Spelling Bees!

Have you been in a spelling bee? What word were you eliminated on?

In grade 4, I was eliminated on debacle(I spelt it like depart), only because the spellmaster was French and mispronounced it :/

In grade 5 I was eliminated on allegro(I spelt it like alegro)

In grade 6 I was eliminated on libretto(I spelt it like lebretto)

In grade 6 I made it to the regionals in Ottawa and I was eliminated on chintz(I spelt it like chince)

Once in 6th grade. I can't really remember the word though.

It was a really dreadful and boring experience for me TBQH, cause I was sitting on that lame chair for like 2 hours or so, being asked to stand up and spell a word... Pfff... I remember me wanting to get out of that building as soon as possible! :lol: :lol: ;)

8th grade - don't remember what word I spelled wrong.

11th grade - spelled idiosyncrasy wrong (I spelled it "idiosynchrasy")

Never had a spelling bee where I'm from, they're not so popular in the UK I don't think, especially not Essex anyway. :lol:

I'm actually a great speller though :geek:
