View Full Version : Barbidad's Top 5 single chart

RihannaRunsThisTown
11-06-2011, 05:42 PM
As of today - the 6th November 2011, Barbidad is starting a weekly top 5 singles chart which will come out each sunday night - the next being the 13th

The rules for this is simple - each week an artist can only have 1 song - as a main artist - in the chart, any features don't apply to that! Also the original version is the only one counted. and finally X Factor performances are not counted either! This is based on the number of plays in Barbidad's I-Tunes library! But there is 1 final part to this, if a song was in the top 5 the previous week, it will gain airplay bonus the next week - if it was no.1 it will get 5 plays added on, no.2 4 plays, no.3 3 plays, no.4 2 plays and no.5 1 play - therefore i can count how many weeks in top 5 - and say whether its down or up or a re-entry

Does anyone think Got 2 Luv U will stay no.1, or will Cher Lloyd knock Sean Paul off the top. Or will we have a brand new number 1 - tune in tomorrow evening
However i can reveal exclusively that our no.1 this week so far is well ahead of its competition!

Hello, this is Barbidad’s Top 5 on the week 20/11/11, and I’m RRTT, let’s start by looking at last week’s no.1 – which was Cher Lloyd and Mike Posner With Ur Love:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM)
Now onto this week’s chart, at 5 this week is Jessie J with a new entry to the chart, this single was released in America as the second single from Who You Are, but was never released in Barbidad or the UK – until Monday morning! The UK haven’t taken much liking but Barbidad has – in fact they’ve been holding out for this track for months, here’s Domino:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfmQuSoys7g
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfmQuSoys7g)
Onto no.4, this week and it’s no other than last week’s no.1, Cher Lloyd and Mike Posner’s With Ur Love, here it is again:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM)
Now, it’s time to take a break from the chart as we mention our new feature to the chart: VIP Album of the Week (sung to TV Highlight of the Week – if you don’t get that, you’re thick), and this week’s VIP album is Young Foolish Happy by Pixie Lott. Speaking of Pixie Lott she comes in to our chart this week at 3 alongside Pusha T, dropping 1 place from last week, here’s What Do You Take Me For:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQCcwNMp830
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQCcwNMp830)
Now we’re in the top 2 and its finger biting tension, and I can now reveal that our no.2 spot this week goes to Katy Perry, due to the release of her brand new video for The One That Got Away:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahha3Cqe_fk&ob=av3e

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2
At 5 was Jessie J falling down onto this week’s chart like a Domino, at 4 was Cher Lloyd flying high With Ur Love, at 3 was this week’s VIP album owner, Pixie Lott, seriously What Do You Take her For, and at 2 is The One That Got Away, also known as Katy Perry or Mrs Brand

At the top spot this week, is a song that Barbidad only picked up yesterday morning, and has therefore had 1 day’s play to get to no.1 It’s no lie that in the X Factor, Barbidad’s favourite judge is Kelly Rowland – we just never realised how great and artist she is, and here she is with her 2010 smash, with David Guetta, aye ,aye Commander!

Hello, this is Barbidad’s Top 5 on the week 27/11/11, and I’m RRTT, let’s start by looking at last week’s no.1 – which was Kelly Rowland and David Guetta’s Commander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av2e
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av2e)
Now onto this week’s chart, at 5 this week is Alicia Keys. Did you know that this track is the 9th biggest seller by a US girl in the UK in the 21st century. Here’s Empires State of Mind pt.II:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d04vGqP2dcI

Onto no.4, this week and it’s Katy Perry and The One That Got Away, check it out and see if this is the song that got away:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahha3Cqe_fk&ob=av3e (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahha3Cqe_fk&ob=av3e)

At 3 this week, is last week’s no.1 – Kelly Rowland and David Guetta with their track Commander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av2e (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av2e)

Now we’re in the top 2 and I can reveal that this week’s no.2 is a new entry from Cher Lloyd’s debut album, it’s the track, Beautiful People feat. Carolina Liar, sadly there is no video for this, so instead we’re goin to show Cher’s recent track that went no.1 in Barbidad only a few weeks ago, With UR Love feat. Mike Posner:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpO86pGHAM)

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2
At 5 was Alicia Keys having a reminiscent moment about her hometown of New York. At 4 was Katy Perry and the no.1 spot is the one that got away. At 3, is last week’s no.1, Commander Kelly Rowland and David Guetta and at 2, is a new Cher Lloyd track – beautiful people, yes you are Cher.

Now we shall take a break from the chart to announce our VIP album, this week which is none other than Talk That Talk by Rihanna, it is the best album to ever be released! All the tracks are wonderful, but one stood out to Barbidad

In reminiscence of Rude Boy, our no.1 this week is the track Roc Me Out, which is very similar to RiRi’s Rude Boy from 2010. Sadly Roc Me Out doesn’t have a music video, but we do have the video for Rude Boy:

Hello, this is Barbidad’s Top 5 on the week 4/21/11, and I’m RRTT, let’s start by reminding you of last week’s no.1, Roc Me Out by Rihanna

Now onto this week’s chart, at 5 this week is Kelly Clarkson, with the track Mr Know It All from her newest album Stronger:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C_oNMH0GTk

Onto no.4, this week and it’s Lady Gaga with her new Christmas track, a cover of White Christmas, but as we don’t have a music video for this, we are going to play her newest track from Born This Way, Marry the Night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cggNqDAtJYU

At 3 this week, is Beyoncé, with her new single from 4, Love on Top – Barbidad has caught onto this track for a few weeks now, but it has finally entered the chart, here’s Love on Top:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob7vObnFUJc&ob=av3e

Now we shall take a break from the chart, to reveal this week’s VIP album, Here I Am by Kelly Rowland is a wonderful album, and her single Commander has moved up 1 place this week and is now at 2, so here is Kelly Rowland and David Guetta with Commander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av3n

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2
At 5 was Kelly Clarkson with her Mr Know It All, at 4 this week is Lady Gaga and her White Christmas, at 3 is Beyoncé who is having Love on Top and at 2 is Commander Kelly Rowland.

Rihanna has made a record in Barbidad’s chart, to have a single at no.1 more than 1 week as Roc Me Out is now no.1 for a second week in the chart. As this song is an album track, Rihanna still hasn’t filmed a music video, so we shall show her UK hit, We Found Love:

Hello, this is Barbidad’s Top 5 on the week 11/12/11, and I’m RRTT, let’s start by reminding you of last week’s no.1, Roc Me Out by Rihanna

Now onto this week’s chart, at 5 this week is Avril Lavigne, with her 2002 smash, I’m With You. This track was recently covered by Amelia Lily on the X Factor, and Barbidad just kept playing it and the original, so here is I’m With You:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGR65RWwzg8

Onto no.4 this week, and it is new and budding talent Tanya Lacey. Her track Letter to My Ex, was picked up on by Barbidad on Saturday 10th, so it has only had 1 days sales and reached 4 – lookin forward to next week’s chart, but for now here’s Letter to My Ex:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqG7p21D2Ys&ob=av3e

At 3 this week, is David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. No, not Commander, but their 2009/2010 hit When Love Takes Over (yeah yeah). This track has actually had the highest plays this week, but because of airplay got knocked down to 3, so here is When Love Takes Over (yeah yeah):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zudbz4hOcbc

At 2 this week is Rihanna! Yes Roc Me Out has eventually been knocked off the no.1 spot, and as we still don’t have a video, we will play a wonderful Rihanna song, recently covered by Alexandra Stan. So here is Rihanna’s Take a Bow:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3UjJ4wKLkg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3UjJ4wKLkg)

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2
At 5 was Avril Lavigne and I’m With You. 4 was Tanya Lacey’s Letter to My Ex. 3 was David Guetta and Kelly Rowland with When Love Takes Over and 2 was Rihanna and Roc Me Out.
And now, another record has been made for Barbidad, the 1st song to be knocked off the top spot and to re-own it after being knocked off is Kelly Rowland and David Guetta’s Commander:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av3n (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfKZ-1jyiw&ob=av3n)

OMG, did i not post this week's chart! So sorry, i blame technical difficulties - e.g. malware warning @Wayne, sorry but i always have to blame someone, i should sue - just kidding

Thankfully, as the chart is collected on Sat @ 23:59, it is written the following day, so i will upload it later tonight, when i get to Barbidad's own comp, which has the file (under lock and key - or so I say)

Onto no.4 this week, and it is our first re-entry to the chart, and it is none other than our very first no.1, Got 2 Luv U by Sean Paul and Alexis Jordan. This track has now made history, so here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDq3fNew1rU&ob=av3e (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDq3fNew1rU&ob=av3e)

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2

Hello, this is RRTT, thanks for watching Barbidad’s 2011 year-end chart top 5 on Christmas Day and well done to Alexandra Stan for getting our Christmas No.1 spot

Since we started this chart, we have had a total of 25 songs this year entering it, and now it is time to reveal our
no.5 spot.

At 5 is Wish You Were Here by Avril Lavigne. This track only came this week, but I’m sure that everyone knows that the Christmas week normally generates the most sales, so here she is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT1-sitWRtY&ob=av2e (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT1-sitWRtY&ob=av2e)

Now onto 4, and it is another new-entry from this week. Avril Lavigne was at 2, so it can only be our Christmas No.1, Alexandra Stan and Get Back ASAP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rakG7c4eyk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rakG7c4eyk)

Now onto 3 and it is Rihanna and Roc Me Out. Unfortunately, Rihanna hasn’t filmed a video yet for this, but we do have Rihanna’s next single, You da One:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3HeLs8Yosw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3HeLs8Yosw)

Bass Down Low is so old but it rocks my socks. I love it. And Stronger is one of Kelly's finest songs and a contender for song of the new decade for me. Its got such an epic sound. And I love Turn Me On too.

This week, its 3/5 - you're getting better! ;)

@Wayne let's see what you think of this week's chart:

Hi, I'm RRTT and you're watching Barbidad's Top 5 on the week 12-2-12

at 5, this week, is a new entry for Britters with a track from her first studio album 'Baby One More Time', the track is known as 'Soda Pop' and was a feature in the movie soundtrack for the first of the Pokémon movies. As there is no video for 'Soda Pop', we're going to play her biggest hit, so here is Britney Spears and 'Baby One More Time':

Onto no.4 and down 1 place from last week is Cover Drive, with their amazing second single (the first to chart in Barbidad) 'Twilight':

At 3, this week is a new entry from Beyoncé, and yes another album track! its the wonderful 'I Was Here' from 4th album '4', but again there is no video, so we're going to play you another one of her ballads, that is just as amazing, here is her 2006 smash, 'Irreplaceable':

At 2 this week is the final new entry (and album only song) - this time it is by Rihanna featuring Eminem, yes it is part 2 of 'Love the Way You Lie', but as there is no video, we will play you part 1 - so here is 'Love the Way You Lie' by Eminem featuring Rihanna:

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2

At 5 is Britney Spears who is fizzing and popping with her Soda Pop, 4 was Twilight down 1 place from last week. Beyoncé Was Here at 3, and Rihanna & Eminem were Loving The Way They Lie at 2:

so that just leaves our no.1 spot, and the #1 this week, is a non-mover, yes it is Kelly Clarkson with (WDKY) 'Stronger':

at 5, this week, is a new entry for Flo Rida feat. Sia with the track Wild Ones - to which the video has just come out, so here it is:

At 2 this week is Rihanna, but a different track from last week - due to the rules of the Barbidad top 5, only one song per main aritst - therefore this track had higher plays this week - and therefore re-entering the chart, is You da One

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2

At 5 are Wild Ones Flo Rida and Sia, 4 is Cover Drive and their twilight. 3 is Kelly Clarkson who is Stronger? Really? but Rihanna is the One who is getting stronger re-entering at 2

so that just leaves our no.1 spot, and the #1 this week, is of course, the amazing new Nicki Minaj track, Starships, but we don't have a video so instead we will play you Fly:

I'm RRTT presenting for Barbidad, thanks for watching!

EXCLUSIVE!!!

NOW Barbidad! 2 and its tracklist will be revealed Mon 26th March 2012 - and will be based on the charts from 1-1-12 - 25-3-12
It will include the top 15 tracks this year so far, but I'm not revealing any figures, so you'll have to figure (if you'll pardon the pun, AHAHAHA) that out on your own.

that means there will be 3 more weekly charts before it, this weeks chart, next weeks and the week after.

Let's look at some songs that could breach the top 5 within the next few days (*zipslips* - yeah right!)

Talk That Talk - Rihanna feat. Jay-Z, after her performance on the JR show, Barbidad are lapping up this collaboration, and it is looking at #1 this week

Part of Me - Katy Perry, it will be released 12-3-12, and Barbidad can't wait

Va Va Voom - Nicki Minaj, Barbidad has just received word that this will be released in the UK and Barbidad on the 19th March

Could these three titles be the next three number 1s and give a third Barbidad #1 to Rihanna (after Roc Me Out and You da One), and a second to both Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj (after The One That Got Away and Starships respectively)? Or will other tracks keep the #1 spot, or some unexpected #1s (or pushed back release dates - it has happened before!)

and controversy always helps - Barbidad have recently seen the video to "Bulletproof" by La Roux, and controversy has struck surrounding the fact of is the lead singer a man or a woman? and it looks like it will enter the top 5 - and give La Roux, (her?) first top 5 entry in Barbidad's chart - who says controversy's never helpful!

Hi, I'm RRTT and you're watching Barbidad's Top 5 on the week 11-3-12

at 5, this week, is a new entry for La Roux - their 1st top 5 hit in Barbidad - Bulletproof
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n71KUiWn1I)

Onto no.4 and down 1 from last week are Wild Ones, Flo Rida and Sia

At 3, this week and down 2 from last week - Want U Back, Cher Lloyd feat. Astro

At 2 this week is Nicki Minaj's non-moving Starships - staying at #2 for a third consecutive week, but we only have StupidHoe for you

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n71KUiWn1I

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2

At 5 is are the Bulletproof La Roux, beaten by Wild Ones Flo Rida and Sia at 4. At 3, is Cher Lloyd and Astro who probably want the #1 spot back and Nicki Minaj hovering on her Starship at 2

so that just leaves our no.1 spot, and the #1 this week, is a new entry for Rihanna. The track was performed on the Jonathan Ross show last week, and it has reached #1 in Barbidad, but as we don't have a music video, here's the JR performance of Talk That Talk

We’re so close to finding out our no.1 spot but before we do, let’s look at tracks 5 – 2

At 5 is are the Bulletproof La Roux, beaten by Wild Ones Flo Rida and Sia at 4. At 3, is Cher Lloyd and Astro who probably want the #1 spot back and Nicki Minaj hovering on her Starship at 2

so that just leaves our no.1 spot, and the #1 this week, is a non-mover, yes it is Rihanna feat. Jay-Z with Talk That Talk, and here is the JR performance of it considering there is no music video yet:

I'm RRTT, and I'm sorry to say we're now only showing short versions of our Top 5 in Barbidad, but a new feature will be added next week, and look out for Now Barbidad! 2 tomorrow!

Id also just like to mention that Katy Perry now holds the record for the most played song in a single week - with Part of Me having 76 plays this week, triumphing Little Mix's Cannonball which had 58 plays on 18-12-11

This is the last week in the current format, I will explain the new format in another post

RihannaRunsThisTown
04-29-2012, 03:57 PM
New format

starting next week another feature will decide the chart's overall position as well.

along with the current format, which is based on my plays per week, and the airplay, gathered from the previous week, a new feature - known as the pre-order bonus will now be included

the pre-order bonus will work at follows, for every week at #1 a main artist has spent there, is how many points will be added to their songs each week. The list so far is as follows:
Artist Pre-order Bonus
Rihanna 5
Cher Lloyd 3
Katy Perry 3
Kelly Clarkson 3
Kelly Rowland 2
Nicki Minaj 2
Alexandra Stan 1
Beyoncé 1
Carly Rae Jepsen 1
Cover Drive 1
Jessie J 1
Little Mix 1
Pixie Lott 1
Sean Paul 1

as you can see, any Rihanna song will automatically gain 5 points every week, unless she notches another week at #1, which will make it 6 weeks.

Also, I'm about to give out certifications, which will also be edited in the first post of my chart
