I don't really like any of 'em :( I like the older acts, they usally choose more charismatic performers with loads of talent and status, I want Shania, Alanis, Anastacia, Tori Amos, Bjork, Sheryl Crow, Nerina Pallot, Amy Studt, Joan Osborne, Erykah Badu, M.I.A., Kerli ....and maybe a wonderful duet between Anastacia & Celine their last one was amazing! :o That's what I call a lineup! :D

Looks like a good show HOWEVER it's not really in the same league as the other shows. These are all pretty young new acts, their are no seasoned actual Diva's. I think it would be a good idea for them to have either Whitney or Mariah to headline, considering they both have albums out soon wouldn't hurt them either. The only thing that would hurt them is if they were outsung by the whipper snappers :shock:

This one is gonna be a weird DIVAs show without any real divas. Oh well, the only I'd listen to would be Kelly and Leona. I just cannot understand how in the world Smiley Virus can be termed a "DIVA" :shock: Does she even know meaning of the word :? ?

Boston (DbTechNo) - It is being reported that Idol Judge castoff Paula Abdul has landed a new job with VH1.

She has been named as the host for the “VH1 Divas” live concert event to take place September 17th.

She made the announcement via Twitter last night, and since then word has spread like wildfire.

People named to perform during the event include Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Cher, and Celine Dion.

Abdul quit American Idol because they would not pay her what she wanted, and since then has been looking for work.

For those who care, Abdul’s Twitter message read: “Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s “Vh1 Divas”!

The VH1 Divas special really has the makings of being a kick-ass show!

Check out this exclusive new promo featuring the lovely Jennifer Hudson, front and center, who has just been added to the lineup!

Hudson is joining her fellow Idol alums, Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks as well as Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis and Adele.

Not to be outshone by the "divettes," Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, Melissa Etheridge and Martina McBride are also slated to perform on the live broadcast airing September 17.

not to say they are not all great singers, even Miley can sing.... from what I have seen but it's just not the same :roll:

Also is it just me or is Jennifer Hudson made out to be alot more succesful than she actual is? She is fab, don't get me wrong but she is very hyped.

Disappointing that Kelly and Adele aren't singing together. Kelly has stated a few times that she would love to duet with her, and I thought it was sort of a given that they would do it on this show.
Still, I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW. :woohoo:

Kelly's *Already Gone* was my fave solo performance.
Best duet was probably Leona and Cyndi Lauper. All the performances were amazing though :D

My fav duet was also Cyndi Lauper n' Leona Lewis. Next fav was Martina McBride n' Jordin Sparks...sad that Jordan sang Martina's song better than she did..lol..but it was great. Never did figure out what was up with Toni B though..she looked.....um...ya :teehee:

OMG she SO did not Rhonda! :o

Martina gave the perf. of the night for me, closely followed by Cyndi! Martina's ending was outstanding, and Jordin herself was astounded! :P

The oldies really shined this night

I honestly thought the whole show was a little under-whelming. There was no show-stopping moment.

Paula Abdul was completely rediculous and possibly very drunk. I also believe she wrote her own jokes which turned out to be very awkward and cringe-worthy.

Solo's

Kelly - not her best performance by a mile but solid
Adele - Actually lovely performance on the solo.
Jordin - Boring, average vocals for her if that
Jennifer - good but not great, just didn't go anywhere
Leona - dull, she struggled a little on the top belts. Not heard her struggle before.
Miley - eh..... shout, shout shout. She does have stage presence for a young girl

Duet's

Leona & Cindy - This was really nice. Cindy was amazing. Leona didn't really shine.

Kelly & Melissa - Again a nice performance but nothing amazing

Jordin & Martina - hmmm can't decide on this one. I like Martina but she was having some real pitch issues. Jordin sounded sweet

Jennifer & Stevie - I really enjoyed this, but to be honest I would have enjoyed it if it was just Stevie. I love him. Really cool perfomance though.

Miley & Sheryl - O MY GOD!!!! Miley should be punished and her pocket money be taken away for a long time. The shouting over a classic tune was painful. Even Sheryl looked awkward and embarrassed. Oh Miley you have alot to learn
