So the diva with the sexiest voice in music is back this September with her latest effort 'Pulse'. Her first album since critically acclaimed album 'Libra' in 2005. Due to poor sales of that album and numerous disputes with management Ms. Braxton left Blackground after just one album and has since done a stint at the Flamingo Lounge in Las Vegas, reportadly earning over $30 million and has appeared on Dancing With the Stars.

A number of tracks/demo's have leaked from the album.

What do you all think? I don't think this is smash hit material up to this point. I think the stand out track is 'Melt' but I can't see it doing much chart wise.[/center:31y5ok0f]

I like most of the tracks that have leaked, especially Get Loose.
I think some of them need mastering or something, maybe they are still demos, I don't know.

Yeah I believe some of them need mastering I know for definate the version of 'Pulse' that has leaked is just the demo version.

From what I have read on the net the label are still holding out for a September/November release. Lets hope that happens.

Not heard anything lead single material yet though!!

Beyoncé isn’t the only one to put a ring on it. Singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney exclusively tells Rap-Up.com about a similar ring-themed track he wrote for Toni Braxton’s new album.


“I did a record for Toni Braxton called ‘My Ring’s Too Heavy,’” says the soon-to-be 22-year-old pop star, whose album Departure: Recharged hits stores today. “Three weeks later, Beyoncé came out with a record called ‘Single Ladies’ and it sort of has a hand and a ring theme behind it.”

The song was recorded for the “Dancing with the Stars” alum’s sixth studio album, due out on Atlantic Records. “No offense to Beyoncé, I think Toni’s is a little bit better in my opinion, but we’ll have to see what the charts do.”

Meanwhile, the “Bleeding Love” songwriter has plans to hit the studio with “American Idol” Jordin Sparks for her sophomore album.

I do agree with him that Toni is slightly better then Bey (without meaning to cause any arguments). Not A Chance is my favourite of the songs so far! Its great! :D

Toni Braxton’s highly-anticipated new album has leaked more than Mishrif’s sewage system. So, this comes as no surprise that her team has gone for a complete revamp, which not only includes the songs, but also the theme and the cover. We reported previously about her older sleeve, but now this one is fiercer and more of a comeback look. Still, the news that she has directed the album towards a more “Jamaican” sound is not sitting well with us – we all know what happened with her ”Christmas In Jamaica” phase. Toni revealed in her webcast that the album is tentatively set for release on February 8th 2010. She will also be releasing 2 simultaneous singles around that time.

During yesterdays webcast, Toni Braxton revealed that her new album, with working title Pulse, is due to be released February 8, 2010, and is currently on track to release two singles. With current single Yesterday being unofficially dropped this previously week. The video for Yesterday is currently in the works …


The Executive Producer team for Toni’s up coming Atlantic release include Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas.The production duo previously collaborated with Toni on the tracks “Supposed to Be” [co-written by Keri Hilson], “Finally” [co-written by Durrell “Tank” Babbs] and “I Wanna Be Your Baby” [co-written by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds].

Toni Braxton has reportedly split from her husband Keri Lewis.


The couple, who have been married for eight years, have two children together, 7-year-old Damien and 6-year-old Diezel.


According to Essence magazine, the break-up follows reports that the singer might lose her home after allegedly defaulting on mortgage payments.


Braxton apparently owes more than $12,500 (£7,800) on her mansion in California. Bank of America is considering to foreclose her home.


The star also supposedly owes the City National Bank $900,000 (£600,000) in loan payments. A lawsuit against Braxton is currently under way.

Amazing amazing album. It's so goooood, even the bonus tracks are amazingggg!
My *only* issue with the album is the lack of midtempos, aside from "Make My Heart" (which is just incredible!!) and "Lookin' At Me" and bonus track "The Wave", it's all ballads and midtempos. Not a big complaint though!

Listening to album now. Here are my impressions from the first time I hear each track...

1) Yesterday. I like it! I was listening to it adamant that it was a Ryan Tedder production as it sounds so much like his productions, but I was shocked when I wiki'd to see that it wasn't! So shame on the producers for making a Halo rip off! But it is good.
2) Make My Heart. I can see myself loving this :)
3) Hands Tied - Not feeling it.
4) Delta Goodrem fan here, so... Not appreciating it.
5) If I Have To Wait - This is nice :)
6) Lookin' At Me - ooo nice beat.
7) Wardrobe - Nice enough.
8) Hero - I like this :D
9) No Way - There is only room for one 'no way' in my life and that belongs to Koda Kumi! *giggles* Personally not keen on this song, not keen on her low register.
10) Pulse - Expected more from the title track... I do like it when it picks up near the end though.
11) Why You Won't Love Me - The better slow track on the album, but still not too keen.
I also have 'The Wave'. Why was this not on the album!?

Lol @ my impressions becoming progressively shorter and shorter.
And I can not get over the fact she is 41. She looks like she's in her early 20's! So gorgeous. I think like all the diva's from her sort of era, her voice is no way near as good as it once was though.

Its been out for some time now, its initial chart run of 9-22-41 warranted sales of around 78k. By now, I expect it to have sold around 100,000-110,000 copies in the US. Should have been so much more though. More positively, she's featuring on magazine covers again haha:
