================================================== ======

Eminem released his first LP in 1999 and that went on to shift over 9m copies WW - a remarkable # for a debut rap artist. Since 2000, he has shifted a very fantastic 64,540,000 off the back of his name alone. Some people choose not to include the 8 Mile OST in his total - if you are one of those, thats fair enough, but I have chosen to incorpoate that OST in his sales. Therefore his sales this decade (incl. that OST) are 74,540,000 - making him the biggest-selling soloist of this decade, and the highest-selling rap act of all time

Relapse Worldwide Sales: (Week Ending 15th August)

2,435,000+

Shifted another 60,000+ copies worldwide this week, seems to be stuck at selling 60,000 each week, but the worldwide sales are looking great now , won't be long before it reaches 3 million.

Ask Billboard - Jan 2008

Here are the best selling rap acts (solo or otherwise) based on their cumulative U.S. albums sales since 1991 (when Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data) through June 2008. The rankings have not changed since we compiled this list in June.

1. Eminem (33 million)
2. 2Pac (31.8 million)
3. Jay-Z (28.8 million)
4. Nelly (20.9 million)
5. Beastie Boys (18.9 million)
6. OutKast (17.3 million)
7. DMX (16.5 million)
8. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (16.4 million)
9. 50 Cent (15.4 million)
10. Dr. Dre (13.3 million)

You'll notice no female rap acts are in the top 10. The biggest selling female rap act, since 1991, is Missy Elliott, with 7.5 million albums sold in the U.S

The re-release of Eminem’s fifth studio album includes seven bonus tracks, including the single “Forever”, also featuring Drake, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne (previously found on the More Than A Game soundtrack), “Taking My Ball” (also released only with the DJ Hero video game), and five never-before-heard tracks. “I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned” Eminem says. “Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year”.

Eminem's 'Recovery' Explodes At No. 1 on Billboard 200 With 741,000

Eminem's "Recovery" will blast in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with 741,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's the largest sales week for a single album since October 2008, when AC/DC's "Black Ice" debuted with 784,000 in its first week.

"Recovery" is the hip-hop king's sixth straight No. 1 debut -- and sixth overall chart-topper on the Billboard 200. His only set to miss the top spot was his "Slim Shady LP" debut, which bowed and peaked at No. 2 in 1999. Among hip-hop acts with the most No. 1 albums, only Jay-Z has earned more, with 11.

The debut sales week of "Recovery" surpasses the first week of Eminem's last set, "Relapse," which began at No. 1 in 2009 with 608,000. It also beats the opening of 2005's "Curtain Call: The Hits" which entered at No. 1 with 441,000 in 2005.

Eminem's new album also wows digitally, as downloads made up 255,000 of its first week. That's the second-biggest digital week for an album in history. Only Coldplay's "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends" notched a larger frame, when it debuted with 288,000 downloads in the summer of 2008.

Eminem also naturally makes big news on the Digital Songs chart with his "Recovery" collaboration with Rihanna, titled "Love the Way You Lie." It debuts at No. 1 with 338,000 downloads sold. It's the sixth time the rapper has topped the Digital Songs chart and the second time he's done it this year, following "Not Afraid's" entry atop the list back in May with 379,000.

It's already the 8th best selling album of the year, and he's now the only artist to have four albums reach weekly sales of over 700,000 (in the SoundScan era) and he has the longest consecutive string of #1 albums (6) since The Beatles in the 60's!

Em's 'Recovery' has huge debut in Canada
http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/E/Eminem/2010/06/30/14567196.html

The music biz may be reeling these days, but once again hip-hop king Eminem helped them recover for at least one week.

Slim Shady's brand new album, "Recovery," shot to No. 1 on the album charts, selling a whopping 85,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.

The album figures make "Recovery" the best debut of 2010, and also surpassed Em’s sales of 2009's "Relapse," which started on top with 64,000.

Miley Cyrus' "Can't Be Tamed" came in at No. 2 with 13,000 in sales, Drake's "Thank Me Later" (12,000) sank from No. 1 to No. 3

Eminem Makes It Five Weeks In A Row

Eminem makes it five weeks in a row at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as "Recovery" sells another 187,000 (down just 4%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. Rick Ross' "Teflon Don" arrives in the runner-up spot with 176,000. Ross' last three studio albums all debuted at No. 1, with his last set, 2009's "Deeper Than Rap," arriving with 158,000. The opener for "Teflon" is Ross' best sales week since 2008's "Trilla" arrived with 198,000.

• A week ago industry observers had initially projected that Ross had a good shot at a No. 1 debut. However, "Recovery" held on strong with a small weekly sales decline. Chalk that up in part to its sale pricing at Target and Best Buy and the continued popularity of its single "Love the Way You Lie." It reigns atop the Digital Songs chart for a fifth straight week (332,000 downloads; down 6%).

• Next week, we expect the highest debut will be Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare," which is looking like it might arrive at No. 2. The rock band's last studio effort—its 2007 self-titled set—debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 94,000.

Though Eminem is sidelined from No. 1 on the Billboard 200, perhaps he can take solace in the knowledge that he still owns the No. 1 slot on the Digital Songs chart as "Love the Way You Lie" sells another 300,000 downloads (down 10%). The biggest movers into the Digital Songs' top 10 are Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" (11-4 with 183,000; up 119%) and Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" (12-7 with 135,000; up 68%). The tally's highest debut is Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue" at No. 12 with 93,000.

Next week on the Billboard 200, we expect the highest debut will be Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs," which could open at No. 2. Industry sources suggest the set could sell between 80,000 and 100,000 by week's end on Sunday, Aug. 8. Eminem's "Recovery" may possibly retake the No. 1 slot, as it's likely Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" will probably see a significant second-week sales decline from its current No. 1 perch.

So he officially lost his top spot, but its fantastic that he could retake it next week! :o

Eminem's "Recovery" returned to the top spot in the land, selling 19,000 copies, while Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" moved 12,000 units, a drop of over 60 per cent from last week's totals, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Em's new disc has now sold a grand total of 277,000 since its release eight weeks ago.

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" (4,300) remained at No. 3

Reid's 'Love' stays at No. 1
http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/R/Reid_Johnny/2010/09/15/15359496.html

Singer-songwriter Johnny Reid still had a place atop the Canadian album charts this week.
His new effort, "A Place Called Love," remained at No. 1 this week, selling 13,000 copies, according data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
It has now sold over 30,000 since its release two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Eminem's "Recovery" (10,000) did just that in its 12th week, climbing two spots to No. 2, while the top debut went to the 16th edition of the popular collection "NOW" (7,000) at No. 3.

Wayne
09-21-2010, 07:37 PM
Over 4m copies shipped worldwide. He should comfortably reach 5m, and after that, it's a case of how high he can go.

As per the UK Charts Topic:

Getting to number one is obviously desirable but NOT getting to number one can be cool too – Love The Way You Lie by Eminem feat. Rihanna spent four weeks at number two without ever making it to the top but is rewarded for sustained high sales by jumping 3-1 on the year to date rankings.

The track rallies 7-6 on its 13th straight week in the Top 10, with sales of 31,877 lifting its overall tally to 651,197, enough to eclipse both Fireflies by Owl City (639,587 sales), and Everybody Hurts by Helping Haiti (620,596 sales). Stan (791,278 sales) is the only one of 33 previous Eminem chart entries – as main or featured artist, or with band D12 – to still have higher sales than Love The Way You Lie.

So Stan, as expected is Ems biggest UK seller, having close to 800k :)

chart watch

recovery continues its chart recovery. The album, which had fallen as low as #25 in november and december, jumps from #7 to #2 this week. Recovery is a grammy finalist for album of the year. In fact, it's the front-runner to win the award on feb. 13.

Recovery sold 3,415,000 copies in 2010, which is more than any album sold in 2008 or 2009. In this nervous economy and in this down market for album sales, that's remarkable.

2. Eminem, recovery, 63,000. The former #1 album jumps from #7 to #2 in its 28th week. This is its 22nd week in the top 10. Four songs from the album are listed on hot digital songs, topped by "love the way you lie" (featuring rihanna), which dips from #32 to #36.

eminem's "recovery" was officially confirmed as the united states' best-selling album of 2010, with 3.42 million copies sold.

It's the first time since soundscan began tracking music sales in 1991 that an act has copped the top-selling album in more than one year.

Eminem's "not afraid" (3.41 million)."

eminem's "love the way you lie" (featuring rihanna, 4.25 million)"

"the top-selling digital album of '10 was also eminem's "recovery," with 852,000 downloads."

"eminem shifted 4.32 million albums last year."

eminem, taylor swift rule digital charts for 2010

eminem might not be the most tech-savvy dude in the business, but he reigned over the u.s. Digital charts in 2010. Not only was he the top-selling artist for overall streams -- his songs last year generated 94 million streams, according to nielsen soundscan's year-end totals -- but his "love the way you lie" (featuring rihanna) was the year's top-streaming song and his "recovery" lp topped the list of digital album downloads.

His overall stream total last year topped taylor swift's total of 77 million by about 17 million units.

1. Eminem (94 million streams)
2. Taylor swift (77 million streams)
3. Lady gaga (58 million streams)
4. Rihanna (57 million)
5. Ke$ha (53 million)
6. Nickelback (52 million)
7. Lady antebellum (52 million)
8. Black eyed peas (49 million)
9. Beyonce (46 million)
10. Mariah carey (45 million)

eminem's "love the way you lie" was streamed 22.4 million times last year, making it one of three songs to generate more than 20 million streams in 2010.

Meanwhile, the 852,000 downloads of em's "recovery" album far outpaced the digital albums sales of the no. 2 best-seller, swift's "speak now," which scanned 488,000 units.

But it wasn't all eminem: Swift was the year's top-selling track artist with 34.2 million downloads, followed by the black eyed peas (33.8 million), rihanna (33.6 million) and eminem (33.3 million).
