Mariah Carey–despite idiotic postings elsewhere–is gearing up for her big new CD release.
Mariah feels so strongly about "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" that she's even re-hired the PR powerhouse that made her second-stage career such a success. She's back with Cindi Berger of PMK HBH. It was Berger who made her "Emancipation of Mimi" the biggest hit of Mariah's career. Smart move.
Of course, that means both Mariah and Whitney Houston are now being repped by the same PR company. PMK's Kristen Foster is handling Whitney with my old pal, Jill Fritzo.
"Memoirs" was scheduled for an August 25th release, then moved to September 15th. Now it's set for September 29th. If the regular Grammy deadline had been in place–September 30th–Mariah would have made it. But the unfortunate early deadline of August 31st cut her off. So she has some slack time to get "Memoirs" just right.
The first single from Mariah's CD will not be "Obsessed"–that was just a summer trifle, and it was a lot of fun. The real first official single is said to be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of "Vision of Love."

*Sigh* this is a terrible choice for a single. It won't do anything to drive album sales. Don't get me wrong; it's a lovely ALBUM track, but after "I Want to Know" underperformed, people aren't going to be jumping on the Mariah boat with a slow, whispered ballad. She needs something upbeat and catchy, such as Standing O or Up Out My Face.
I won't be surprised if this doesn't even debut in the Hot 100!

Friday Morning Quarterback (FMQB) lists "H.A.T.E.U." the third single from Mariah's new album Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel as available for airplay on Monday, November 2 at Rhythm Crossover; and Tuesday, November 3 at CHR/Top 40.

It was never an instant song for me... it's taking me literally months to fall in love with this.

I'm really glad she sung everything live. Although she did struggle towards the end and even lost her voice a bit, but I still love it. She should always sing live. They really spoilt her by letting her lip-sync hard parts of her songs.

I would rather have a less than perfect live performance than a lip synched one any day.
Well I have had to get used to it as a Whitney stan LOL
The fact is she is a singer and should sing, even if her voice cracks etc.... who cares.

New premium music video site VEVO.com is set to launch today, December 8th with a coming out party in New York City that includes Mariah taking the stage to premiere her new video, "H.A.T.E.U." The video for "H.A.T.E.U." was shot last month in California by renowned filmmaker Brett Ratner, whose videography with Mariah Carey stretches back more than a decade, to 1998's "I Still Believe." Along the way, Ratner has directed videos for Mariah including "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together" (from The Emancipation Of Mimi), "Touch My Body" (from E=MC2) and, most recently, for her platinum selling # 1 single "Obsessed" (from Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel).

It's a good video. A bit boring in places, but despite the lack of clothes - Mariah does look incredible and not that slutty haha.
