I posted this @ UKMIX earlier today:
An exclusive Music Week chart has named the US writing and production trio behind hits including Cee-lo Green’s Forget You as the most successful hit songwriters in the UK of 2010.
The Smeezingtons, who comprise Peter Hernandez aka Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, take their place at the top of the chart having co-penned Forget You and fellow UK chart toppers Nothin’ On You by B.o.B. featuring Mars and Mars’ own recording Just The Way You Are (Amazing).
Norway’s New York-based songwriting and production duo Stargate take second place on the list after a year in which they had a series of big hits with Rihanna and co-wrote Katy Perry’s Firework, Ne-Yo’s Beautiful Monster and Alex Jordan’s Happiness.
The top 50 chart, which is based on songwriters’ shares of the OCC’s 100 biggest-selling singles of last year, will be published in full in this coming Monday’s edition of Music Week. There will also be a chart of the 20 top British hit songwriters of 2010 as well as full analysis.
