Britney Spears has done it again.

I can exclusively reveal that our favorite comeback kid has been nominated for not one, not two, not three…well, seven MTV Video Music Awards.

Last year, the pop princess made a brilliant return to the VMA stage when she took home three Moon Men trophies for "Piece of Me."

And while we hate to remember this...

Could ya believe it was only two years ago that Spears solidified her train wreck status at the VMAs in Las Vegas with her disastrous performance of "Gimme More" in front of an audience that included Megan Fox?

This year's awards will be handed out and broadcast live on MTV from New York's Radio City Music Hall on September 13. Russell Brand returns as host.

No word yet if Brit will be added to this year's performance roster, which already includes Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day and Muse. Additional nominees and performers are expected to be announced later today.

The ultimate teen queen Britney Spears is set to perform at this weekend's Teen Choice Awards and will receive the show's highest honor.

Spears, who is on a break from the European leg of her worldwide Circus tour, will receive the Ultimate Choice Award in recognition of her contributions to entertainment. Already the awards' winningest female artist, the pop princess is also up for three awards this year: Choice Music: Single for her tune "Circus"; Choice Music: Female Artist; and Choice Music: Tour for her Circus tour.

It will be the 27-year-old's first performance at the awards since she took to the stage at the inaugural Teen Choice Awards 10 years ago. (Lest we forget, her then-hubby Kevin Federline debuted his first rap single "Lose Control" at the 2006 broadcast.)

Twilight leads the field with 12 nominations, followed by a three-way tie with 10 among Cyrus, High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Gossip Girl.

I'm glad I wasn't the only viewer to observe this! Especially given the genuine and admirable nature of Miley's demeanour when presenting the award, it was a bit half assed on Britney's part to give a 10 second speech. I bet the live audience were pissed! :P

While there's no word if the pop princess herself will appear on the hit show, "Glee" creator/writer Ryan Murphy tells ET that the show is currently in the middle of writing a Spears episode.
The hit show, earning 19 Emmy noms Thursday, will also air a big tribute episode after next year's Super Bowl, but Murphy didn't reveal which star it will be based on, only hinting that we were "close" by guessing Michael Jackson.

Series creator Ryan Murphy tells TVGuide.com (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Glee-Brittany-Spears-1020459.aspx.html) exclusively that McKinley High's deliciously ditzy Cheerio Brittany (Heather Morris) will be at the center of Season 2's tribute to Spears.

And it gets better. Brittany will be belting out not one, but two of the pop star's tunes. "Heather's actually got a terrific voice," Murphy says.

Morris already seems sold on the idea. "I heard there's a Britney Spears episode coming up and fingers crossed that I get to sing, because I play Brittany and I'm like, 'Oh my god, it's insane,'" Morris told E! Online last month.

Glee fans won't have to wait long to find out how Morris sounds. Murphy said the Spears-powered hour will be the second episode to air next season.

Britney Spears has reportedly caused "complete pandemonium" after a surprise performance at a party hosted by Nicki Minaj.

The performance was just... breath taking. I don't know why, but I was captivated by the star power and charisma of Britney. If it wasn't Britney performing it, people won't be overwhelmed.
