Her music is very fresh and there is simply noone quite like her!
She has a great ability to touch on important issues with her intricate style and wove them together with pulsing and mad beats that will buzz in your brain!!

I love her 'Kala' album as it does not have one bad track on it! 'Arula' was a grower for me but I love it now but not as much as 'Kala'

yeah I'm with you, it is the best one imo but Arula is wonderful too but in a different way! M.I.A. apparently said that she named her albums after her parents :o 'Arula' being her dad and 'Kala' being her mum, and that 'Kala' was more of a feminine sound as opposed to 'Arula' which is more masculine sounding, I can really understand that :shock: , it does grittier!

Was just listening to "Boyz" as I entered this thread! :lol:

I adore both Kala and Arular, and I couldn't pick a favourite song!

Boyz, 10$, URAQT, Amazon, Pull Up The People, Paper Planes, Bamboo Banga, Jimmy, Bucky Done Gun.... too many amazing songs to choose from.

I've changed my mind and now think 'Arular' is the better album EVERY song on it is IMMENSE! :shock:

In 2008, M.I.A. started her music label, N.E.E.T..[60] She is currently recording using instruments such as the Korg Kaossilator.[41] During her tour she said "I went to Mexico to the pyramids... I sat on top of the pyramid making a beat and it just sounded so huge, like the biggest reverby beat."[41] M.I.A. has discussed possible themes on her next record and tour mate Egyptian Lover has said that he will be collaborating with M.I.A. on her third album.[61][62]

In a September 2008 interview M.I.A. stated "All my teenage-angst kind of songs go to [Rye Rye]." On her next album, she stated "I'd love to write songs like The Last Shadow Puppets or something, or like old Blur songs" and revealed that she is currently working on a "really pretty song" with the working title "Live In Love In Pain."[63]


mmmmm,..... she wants to make songs like Blur? :shock: I wonder if there is any truth in this, it is Wikipedia after all! :D
