3 weeks after her brother Michael passed away, Janet Jackson has returned to work to resume filming her new movie "Why Did I Get Married Too".

Co-star Malik Yoba confirmed the news via his online blog.

"For those who are curious about the state of Ms. Jackson, all seems well," Yoba says on his blog. "She's here at work, and we've got a couple of serious scenes to shoot today."

Director Tyler Perry had given some interviews following Michael's passing, telling the media that Janet could return to the set whenever she felt ready. "Whenever she comes back to work, she'll have everything she needs," Perry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the end of June.

The film also stars singer Jill Scott and has a tentative release date of April 2, 2010.

Seems like J is eager to get back to work, most probably to distract herself from the drama going on around Michael atm. I dare say that the album work will go by the way side for the rest of this year while she finishes the film and helps look after her neice and nephews, they seem really close.

2010 will be Janet's year.

She's already won a NAACP award for her role in "Why Did I Get Married?" so reprising her role in the sequel will only mean good things I believe!

As for the music side of things, she can debut with high sales I think - spots on Oprah and all the big talk shows should ensure so. But I think musically, she will *hopefully* return to her Velvet Rope/Rhythm Nation days!

She rarely puts a foot wrong quality wise imo. She just needs the sales to match her amazing music. Imo think she somehow needs to change the public's perception of her image - as grave as it may sound, I believe that the fall out from Michael Jackson's death has gone some way in doing that, but that won't sell her records, the promotion will, like Simon says! The two together + quality music = good sales for Janet! 8-)

I never really understood why her recent music hasn't shifted, as already mentioned in this thread the quality of material hasn't slipped.

I hope the new album does really well, she deserves another hit!

Aside from the new album, Janet has a book coming out and it's been reported today that she will be appear on Harper's Bazaare magazine and reveal her thoughts and feelings about her brothers death.
