After upstaging the fashion royalty at the Costume Institute gala, Katy Perry (above) will headline the CW's upfronts at Madison Square Garden tomorrow (May 20). The gorgeous singer will perform her new single, "California Gurls," which has been selected as the network's official theme song for the summer. Also expected: "Gossip Girl" boy Chace Crawford, "Vampire Diaries" stars Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev, "90210" beauty AnnaLynne McCord and "Superman" star Tom Welling.

Perry Wants Glee!!

KATY PERRY is urging her fans to launch an online campaign to land her a role in GLEE because she's desperate to star in the musical (http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/perry-wants-glee-role_1151106#) TV show.

The all-singing-all-dancing series is becoming well-known for its celebrity guests, which have included Jennifer Lopez, Eve, and Josh Groban, while stars including Susan Boyle and Justin Timberlake are rumoured to be in talks to appear in the upcoming second season.

Perry is adamant she wants to be included and has appealed to her fans to take to the internet to persuade show bosses to hire her.

She says, "Please! I would love somebody to start that Facebook group and persuade them. I would absolutely love that."

Katy Perry is writing a love song to serenade husband-to-be Russell Brand with at their wedding later this year.

The “California Gurls” singer accepted the British comedian’s proposal during a vacation in India last December. The engagement followed a whirlwind romance that began in Sept. 2009 and Katy is planning to cap off their love by serenading Russell with the romantic tune when they get married later this year.

“Katy has written a love song for Russell. She’s planning to sing it to him right after they exchange vows,” squeals a friend close to the couple. “She can’t wait to see the look on his face. It’s going to be the most emotional moment of her life. Katy’s fallen head-over-heels for Russell and isn’t afraid to show everyone her inner feelings. She thinks that the best way she can express herself is with romantic lyrics.”
