Hilary Duff was born September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas.
At a young age, Hilary studied Cecchetti ballet. Her first performance was with
her sister Haylie in the Nutcracker with the Columbus BalletMet. Hilary has captured the love and respect of millions worldwide as she has built a successful career as an actress, singer, and fashion designer.

Acting
Her first big role was in Casper Meets Wendy where she was the first live-action Wendy. After that success, Hilary was cast as the title character in the Disney television series Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie and Hilary were instant hits! With the success of the series, The Lizzie McGuire Movie released to theaters in 2003 and debuted at #2. Hilary also appeared in Agent Cody Banks and Cheaper by the Dozen in 2003, Raise Your Voice and A Cinderella Story in 2004 and The Perfect Man and the sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2 in 2005. In 2006, Material Girls co-starring her sister Haylie and the animated movie Foodfight! were released.

Music
As Hilary was becoming a film and television star, she was also launching a recording career. Her first album Metamorphosis was #1 on the Billboard 200 and went on to be certified triple-platinum by the RIAA with the #1 Hot Single Sales lead single "So Yesterday" and the top 40 Hot 100 hit "Come Clean." Hilary's first compilation album Most Wanted debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and was #1 in Canada and #8 in Japan. The lead single "Wake Up" reached the top 30 on the Hot 100 and was the #1 video on MTV's popular video countdown TRL and the #1 single on Radio Disney and AOL. Hilary released her 3rd studio album Dignity in 2007, whose lead single, "With Love," is her highest-charting hit to date, reaching the top 25 of the Hot 100.

Hilary has been certified for shipping 9,000,000 albums in the US.

Duff: 'I Want To Judge American X Factor'

HILARY DUFF is refusing to deny reports she has been offered a judging role on SIMON COWELL's THE X FACTOR, but insists she'd love to team up with the music mogul when he launches the U.S. reality show.

Cowell is quitting American Idol next month (May10) so he can concentrate on bringing his hit British talent show to the U.S. - and pop star/actress Duff has been among the names mentioned as possible panelists.

In a taped interview, which will air on Friday's (16Apr10) Ellen DeGeneres show, the So Yesterday singer admits she's heard the rumours about her taking on a judging role and reveals she up for the challenge.

Duff says, "I would totally do it."

Her only reservation would be having to tell untalented people to quit chasing their dreams: "It's got to be hard to judge people to their face."

Duff used her appearance on DeGeneres' show to ask the TV personality and American Idol judge for her help: "You know Simon, so maybe you could, like, put in a good word."

I HATE how the likes of Hilary & Miley etc get criticised on an epic scale when their names pop up in scenarios like this - I think Hilary (and Miley for that matter) would make a really great judge personally! I'm not sure if they're ideal for a permanent role, but certainly a guest spot!
