I first broke news of Gaga's new album some months back over at UKMIX, but here's an interview from Australia where Gaga discusses her birthday and her new album:

- She's already written 'the core of it'

- She's continuing to travel around the world to garner new influences

- Her 'best work to date'

- She's had a 30 ft statue built about herself, with a piano coming out of the stomach!

RedOne (aka Nadir Khayat) confirms that he has worked with Gaga on two tracks and describes both of them as "massive" hits-to-be. While RedOne and Gaga's studio synergy has proven its platinum power (the pair collaborated on nine tracks on her first two albums), the producer says he encouraged her to add some new names to the production credits this time around.

"After 'Just Dance' and 'Poker Face,' 'Love Game' and 'Boys Boys Boys,' I got a sound out of her, and that made it easier for other producers," he says, though he remains mum on naming names. "Her sound is so defined that no matter what people can follow it. That sound belongs to her."

Lady Gaga’s album slated for June 2011

News is out that Lady Gaga is to release her third and highly anticipated album in June 2011. We expected an end-of-the-year date, but we will take that because it means the single will be out just in time for next summer and give us a little Gaga break.

No source as of yet, so its currently just a rumour. But its spreading like wildfire. June 2011 would give her a nice break! :D

I anticipate a massive return to the top of the charts. Another Fame (success wise) would be amazing, but I don't see how she can ever top it! :o

I do wonder myself if she can be even bigger with this new album.
I think "The Fame/Monster" will be one of the albums that just never leaves the chart, even when "Born This Way" is release, I'm positive that "The Fame/Monster" will still be around selling good quantities.

I hope the new album is way more varied though, not just RedOne songs!

lady gaga - my new album will "will change the world"

“the album is my absolute greatest work i’ve ever done and i’m so excited about it,” she told rwd magazine.

“the message, the melodies, the direction, the meaning, what it will mean to my fans and what it will mean in my own life – it’s utter liberation.

“i knew i had an ability to change the world when i started to receive letters from fans: ‘you saved my life…’ ‘i’m gay and my parents threw me out…’

“my fans have related to me as a human being and as a non-human being – as a super-human person that i truly am.”

“everyone tells me i’m arrogant but my music’s the only thing i’ve got, so you’ll have to let me be confident about one thing. I suppose that’s what you can expect from the album: A lot of hit records that will piss people off.

“beyoncé said: ‘where the f**k do you get these ideas from?’ and i was like: ‘i don’t know bee, it was just the way i was born’.”

Most people wouldn't think that this person - the superstar who wears bird nests on her head and sings lyrics like "gaga oo la la" - could be such an articulate and well-informed advocate for civil rights. So BRAVO to GAGA :bravo:

Lady GaGa's manager has praised her "incredible" new album.

Troy Carter insisted that the record, which GaGa announced earlier this year was called Born This Way, will be worth the wait for fans.

"We're just starting to play music for the label," Music Rooms quotes him as saying.

"We're very excited about it. We're starting to play a little for people and getting a feel for it, and she's done an incredible job, a really incredible job."

Carter also explained that they have yet to decide on how to market the album, which he said has always been a collaborative effort with GaGa.

He admitted: "Well, you know what, it's not where I go from a business standpoint, it's more about where she goes creatively because, truth be told, we built the business around her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga."

Born This Way is slated for release in early 2011.

I have no doubts in my mind that this album will be incredible!

Lady GaGa has announced the release date of her new single.

The singer, whose forthcoming album Born This Way has been slated for an early 2011 release, confirmed that she will drop the record's first single in February next year.

The 'Bad Romance' star revealed the news in a "special announcement" on fan site lady-gaga.net, where she also described the LP as being like "bad kids going to chuch, having fun on a high level".

In a short video message, she said: "Hi everyone, this is Lady GaGa. I miss you guys so much. Thank you for all of your support and I can't wait to play you Born This Way - it's killing me".

More new is expected to be released through the website in the coming weeks.

GaGa recently assured (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a290564/gaga-promises-best-album-of-the-decade.html) fans that her new album will be "the greatest album of the decade"

Lady Gaga announces release date for new album 'Born This Way'

Follow-up to 'The Fame Monster' will be released on May 23
January 1, 2011 |
Lady Gaga has announced the release date for her new album 'Born This Way'.

The singer made the announcement via her official Twitter page, Twitter.com/ladygaga, writing that the record will be released on May 23 and that the album's title track will be made available on February 13. She also posted a picture of herself sporting a leather jacket with the album's title written on the back.

February 13 is also the date for the 2011 Grammy Awards. Lady Gaga is nominated for six awards, with the release date leading to speculation that she will perform the song at the ceremony.

'Born This Way' is the follow-up to 2009's 'The Fame Monster', which was the biggest-selling album in the world in 2010, shifting over 5.8million copies.

I'm pretty much excited for this too, I just hope the lead single is an uptempo! Judging by the lyrics posted on her Twitter, it won't be. But I hope it is. Then release a ballad later on, something ala Dance In The Dark (an incredible song!).

As much as GaGa has been huge with her RedOne productions and her huge POP anthems, I'd love to hear a mix on this record too. I think GaGa would totally suit some real rock songs, and I hope with a title like "Born This Way", that the song could be more rock than dance/pop.

Jason

I hope it goes - Up tempo single, ballad single and then the album release! I doubt it though, the first single does indeed seem to be a ballad. As much as I love her ballads, nothing beats her up tempo songs. Nothing!

"The album is a marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock 'n' roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats."

So expect some rock at least!

It's a leaked track...I got it from another forum, it was titled "Greatest (Version 2)". I've never heard a "version 1" and I don't know what the difference is...but the track is really great, very mid-tempo with a relaxing and catchy melody. I could upload it if you want me to.

Lady Gaga has just released her highly-anticipated single “ Born This Way,” which she repeatedly described as the best song ever. Orange County’ s Bravo nightclub will be playing the song repeatedly this Saturday evening. After several websites and critics accused Lady Gaga of plagiarizing “ Express Yourself ” this morning, Madonna’ s old record company, Warner Brothers, is set to re-release 1989's Express Yourself as a single. A new live video featuring Madonna performing the song in 2004 will follow. It is rumored that Madonna's camp really liked Lady Gaga at first, but now considers Lady Gaga a stalker. However, Lady Gaga recently gave an interview to Vogue magazine without even acknowledging Madonna's influence.

SOME MORE REVIEWS:

Lady Gaga "Born This Way" Single Review — 5 out of 5 Stars

"It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M," declares Lady Gaga at the beginning of her brand new single "Born This Way."

It's an intriguing utterance from the reigning queen of pop, but it sets the tone for her divine new single fittingly. "Born This Way" brings Lady Gaga to the next plateau. She was already miles ahead of the competition before but this propulsive, powerful, and poignant anthem blasts her universes away from the rest of the pop game. "Born This Way" is the title track of her mega-anticipated sophomore album due out on May 23rd, however, it sets the stage for the next phase of her career. Fueled by a synth rumble and a sparky bass hum, the song kicks off in dramatic fashion after Gaga's first spoken line. The bass drops back, and her voice shines on the verse, lifting the song to heights of an immediate pop classic.

No one can carry a hook like Lady Gaga, and the chorus on "Born This Way" is nothing short of a monster. With a percussive bounce and a timeless refrain "I'm on the right track, I was born this way," Gaga sounds like she's bridging the gap between the ultimate dance party and the biggest rock concert the world's ever seen. In fact, there's a rock 'n' roll edge to the track that borders AC/DC-style infectiousness. Then it all culminates on an entrancingly hypnotic bridge and hand claps to send it all home like some kind of space gospel jam.

Lady Gaga proved that she was the future on The Fame, on Born This Way, she's going to show the world that she's forever.

Everyone is going to love H-E-R.

http://www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-news/article/lady-gaga-born-this-way-single-review-5-out-of-5-stars/8692753

Nothing has quite hung so deep in the narcissus pool of social media like Gaga's "Born this Way" -- it's a song built within the kingdom walls of Twitter and blogs, endlessly teased by the queen herself (along with her prime jester, Perez Hilton). First the words leaked, line by line. Then the full lyrics. The promise that this song will be the greatest of her career; the album, the greatest of the decade. That Born this Way will move 30 million units.

The problem? "Born this Way" was born before it even arrived. Music is its best when the songs can speak for themselves -- until Gaga, that was kind of the point of it. Lyrics are words for a reason, they tell a story, the beats and instrumentals setting the stage for their own rhythmic tale. "Born this Way" was entered into our lives by the Twitter mistress herself, Lady Gaga, before we'd even had a chance to hear it. We'd read its story, either poked fun at the lyrics or lauded them, imagined what it would sound like, hummed it to our own tune. And then, we waited.

Aside from whatever you think of the song - more on that in a moment - "Born this Way" was instantly less than a song the moment it hit. It was a reveal, an M. Night movie spin, or the end of LOST. Granted, boasting about singles is nothing new. But (willingly) letting Twitter and the Internet vortex shape your song into a machine is not "giving" to your fans -- it's ruining the mystique. No matter what it sounded like, for everyone but diehard "little monsters," it wasn't going to be enough.

But more importantly, when the song doesn't work (it doesn't, in my opinion), there's nothing you can do to stop the chatter. This morning, #Express Yourself is trending almost as high on Twitter as "BornThisWay or any of its hashtaggy permutations. The Web world has taken the reins on a song they already felt they owned, and for Gaga, there's nothing to be done. She gave the song over to the world, and the world will respond back. From one trending topic to another, the song -- while sure to be a success anyway -- is just a product, a thing to be attacked, commented on and talked about. But what about listened to? Well, that's just lower down on the list. Whether or not you think it sounds like Madonna, or TLC, or you actually love it, if your comment about it has a high retweet value on Twitter -- well, that's the stuff of gods right now.. .

Is it Gaga's fault, or just the natural course for music in a world with instant feedback? In a way, it was an experiment. Testing how deep into the waters of social media a singer can go without destroying their own creation before it even hits the radio. Gaga looked into the reflecting pool and saw nothing but herself -- but unlike Narcissus, maybe what she didn't realize is that the pool was full of sharks.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marissa-moss/twitter-killed-the-radio-_b_821934.html

It is rare these days for the release of a single to be a real event. But Born This Way’s debut last Friday morning definitely fulfilled the criteria. The internet – and particularly Twitter – went mad, with Born This Way immediately leaping to the top of trending topics. The song’s undoubted resemblance to Madonna’s classic Express Yourself did not, shall we say, exactly go unnoticed by Twitter users either.
But there is a lot more to Born This Way than this: the song bursts with the spirit of Seventies disco, but imbued with the best 2011 production nous that money can buy and it is, quite frankly, sickeningly addictive.

Expect a big, big hit.

I ADORE this video! And the more I watch it the more I can come to appreciate it.

-I particularly love the beginning. So retro, so.. AWH I just love it
-The dancing and how she looks. I personally think she looks stunning with that hair and how her face is shaped.
-The throwbacks to Mother monster. Gives a certain amount of colour and power to the video.
-The part where her head and body are separated and shes in the naked zipped costume thing.
-When Gaga and her dancers and raising their hands - Pride 8)
-The crazy twitches just afterwards LOL
-The Madonna and MJ references. So plainly obvious. Shes making fun of her media reputation as a copier.
-But most importantly - Rick Genest. Never has such dramatic tattoos made a man look sexier. Right choice Gaga, right choice indeed.

I also love the way people are hating on the song because its 'weird'... lol

AHHHHHHHHHHHH
A-A-A-A
AMERICANO!

Drop down, right through the streets of NYC tonight
High heels, no panties on, got something on my mind
I see the boys, the play like little foolish kids
Americano boys, come give me your d***

A-A-A-A
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
A-A-A-A
AMERICANO!

Jump through the hustle of the NYC st-reets
I've got the power, liber-ty to move my feet
I call the cabs, no need to wait upon your ass
Lady Ga-Ga has got the power to stop cars

A-A-A-A
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
A-A-A-A
AMERICANO!

So kiss me lightly on my neck
Make the hairs stand from your breath
Lick my lips and kiss me softly
Americano! Screw me roughly

Lift me up and feel the beat
Americano - move your feet
Tempers raring, hearts are racing
Americano! Eject your poison

A-A-A-A
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
A-A-A-A
AMERICANO!

Rush through the buisness suites, that make you feel so tired
Whod want to live all day in NYC attire?
Break through the mould, and carve yourself something new
No rotten, peice of mind is what I wanna do!

A-A-A-A
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
A-A-A-A
AMERICANO!

So hold your breath baby
And lets all count to 3
Americano has the words
I long to speak

He knows the rhythm that gets me in the groove
Americano f*** me lightly on the roof!

A-A!

Billboard:
“I Channeled Alexander McQueen to write Born this way”

Lady Gaga says she did not write her latest hit song, "Born This Way," but rather the late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen did so when he channeled it through her from beyond the grave.

Gaga told Harper's Bazaar magazine that McQueen, who committed suicide by hanging on February 11, 2010, "planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote 'Born This Way.' I think he's up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.'"

When the singer's label decided to release the "Born This Way" single on the exact one-year anniversary of McQueen's death, Gaga said it confirmed her belief that the British designer was working through her.

It was not she who wrote the song, Gaga said. "He did!", she told the magazine in an interview for its May edition.

McQueen, 40, and Gaga were close friends. The singer wore his iconic lobster-claw shoes in her "Bad Romance" music video and paid emotional tribute to him in a performance at the BRIT Awards in London a week after his death.

In a fashion spread for the magazine, Gaga sports her new trademark "facial horns" -- spikes on her face that appear to be protruding from beneath her skin.

The bizarre bumps, also on her shoulders, have been part of a new look ever since she debuted the "Born This Way" single at the Grammy Awards in February, leading to speculation that Gaga either had plastic surgery or is wearing prosthetics.

"I have never had plastic surgery," Gaga said. She said the protrusions are "not prosthetics, they're my bones."

The singer insisted the bones have always been inside her, adding: "I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am."

Gaga, known for stunts like setting her piano on fire and wearing a raw meat dress, went on to say that the bones "come out when I'm inspired" and that everyone has them because they are "the light from inside of us."

Weird woman! Haha

Its, weird lol. Kind of love it, kind of hate it!

NEW DETAILS ON THE ALBUM:

Lady Gaga has revealed some new details to NME magazine about several tracks on her upcoming album “Born This Way”, she also confirmed a new track title from the album called ‘Road To Love’;

Government Hooker

Gregorian pop chants, pervy robot voices (courtesey of Gaga’s bodyguard, Pete), window-rattling beats, and the extraordinary line “Put your hands on me, JF Kennedy”. Gaga: “The humour is that a machine in tells me what to do and I happily do it as long as I get ****. It relates to how our government **** us over, but it makes fun of the plastic popstar – ‘I’ll do anything as long as you **** me and pay me

Road To Love

With a soaring melody, nods to Springsteen and an industrial techno production represent the blueprint for ‘Born This Way’. A unicorn is mentioned. “The sax in this and in ‘Hair’ and in ‘Edge Of Glory’ – is not just there for no reason. I grew up listening to much Springsteen and Billy Joel, so in a way, it represents my innocence.

Bloody Mary

A dark, pulsing and atmospheric, almost funeral electroballad, one of several tracks including ‘Judas’ with religious references. “I believe that Mary Magdalene was both fully divine and fully human. She has to be strong when Jesus fulfills the prophecy to die for everyone’s sins, but she still has the moment of humanity where she’s upset to let him go. She had to be a superstar, but she must have cried too.

Marry The Night

Peak-era Whitney Houston-esque pop euphoria up top, with churning techno grinding underneath. “This is about me going back to New York. I wrote this about the courage it took for me to say ‘I hate Hollywood, I just wanna live in Brooklyn and make music’”

Americano

Told as a love story between Gaga and a girl from L.A., this is an acid house-fuelled Mexican-themed footstomper. “This was my first proper collaboration with Fernando Garibay and White Shadow. Labels had been telling Fernando to tone down his mexican influences, but here, we really brought them out. It was when Prop 8 was overturned in California. The immigration law was passed in Arizona, houses were being raided for immigrants, some of whom had been here for 20 years. America was once the land of the free, and now we’re telling everyone to get the **** out”

Lady Gaga also spoke about the use of the Saxophone in her songs ‘Hair’ and ‘Edge of Glory’

The sax in this and in ‘Hair’ and in ‘Edge Of Glory’ – is not just there for no reason. I grew up listening to much Springsteen and Billy Joel, so in a way, it represents my innocence

Ooh, I think I'll have the deluxe version too if I end up buying it. I feel sorry for Gaga; she is in no way going to match Adele's success, but anything other than the best-selling album of the year will be deemed a flop for her :(

Just listened to a clip of 'Hair' and it hit me like the other tracks from this album; it just all seems a bit too mich and heavy. Its bugging me.

What made Monster near perfection was the subtlety IMO. It'll grow on me hopefully.

EDIT: Listening to the full version now, it sounds quite amazing actually :rolling:

Marry The Night - http://heywyatt.tumblr.com/post/5567829633/marry-the-night-lady-gaga

I much prefer this to Hair. I think its safe to say that I've been sorely disappointed with this era so far. Judas is the only song thats up to scratch with her Monster material.

Although, The Fame took a while to grow on me so hopefully Hair, Edge of Glory and Marry The Night will do also.

I've not listened to either yet, going to wait for the album :) Apparently, a shop in Cambridgeshire is selling the album already:

Scheisse is probably Lady Gaga's best song I have ever heard. Pure BLISS! Utter perfection. I was afraid because the remix was so fantastic, but the proper version blows it out of the water.

I've not listened to the entire album yet, but OMFG - You & I is potentially my favourite Gaga song since Dance In The Dark/Speechless - it is absolutely OUTSTANDING. I pray and hope that the rest of the album is as good!!!

Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/lady-gagas-born-this-way-a-track-by-track-breakdown-20110518) seem to like it:

Last night, Lady Gaga's Born This Way (out Monday) leaked online. The contents of the disc haven't been a total mystery – Gaga's released four singles from the album, her third, since February, and has performed other songs from it in concert – but she still managed to pack in some surprises. Here, Rolling Stone senior critic Jody Rosen goes through the album song by song.

"Marry the Night" – It begins big, with Gaga belting "I'm gonna marry the night/I won't give up on my life" over tolling, church-like synths. And it just gets bigger. And bigger. And bigger still. The chorus arrives in an eruption of drums and power chords; there's a pummeling funk-rock breakdown; and the touchstones are Eighties arena pop and hair metal: Pat Benatar, Bonnie Tyler, Bon Jovi.

"Born This Way" – Yeah, yeah: it's an "Express Yourself" bite. And yes: you've heard the song 700 hundred times in the last month. But Gaga's big hit sounds different in the context of the album that shares its name: like an experiment in the audacious plus-sizing of Eighties dance-pop.

"Government Hooker" – The requisite "kinky" song – though what exactly Gaga is saying here isn't clear: "I'll be your hooker/Government hooker," "I could be Mom/Unless you want to be Dad." But the techno-pop production, by DJ White Shadow, is gripping: a shape-shifting assemblage of buzzes, beeps and clattering beats. Choice couplet: "Put your hands on me/John F. Kennedy."

"Judas" – "Wear an ear condom" next time, Gaga sings in a track with one of the catchiest choruses on an album devoted to catchy choruses above all. Gagaologists will spend years pouring over the runes of that rapped bridge. ("But in the cultural sense/I just speak in future tense," etc.) The rest of us will be busy dancing to Red One's walloping production. (Watch the video below.)

"Americano" – The campiest song Gaga's recorded yet, which is saying something. A disco-fied showtune with a pronounced "Latin"-flavor, complete with flamenco guitars and castanets. Possibly about a star-crossed lesbian romance. Definitely set in East Los Angeles. Completely hilarious.

"Hair" – Gaga is not the first songwriter to link self-esteem and liberation to free-flowing coiffure. (Remember that rock musical called, um, Hair? Remember "Whip My Hair"?) But she's definitely the most committed. "I am my hair!" she cries. Red One supplies the gale force hair-tousling synths.

"Scheiße" – Gaga speaks a little German and intones some inspirational platitudes alongside some generic Eurodisco thump and a wisp of a chorus.

"Bloody Mary" – A sluggish tempo, goofy "goth" atmospherics and a lyric that sounds like bad high school poetry: "We are not just art for Michaelangelo to carve/He can't rewrite the agro of my furied heart."

"Bad Kids" – In which Gaga reminiscences about her misspent youth and croons an ode to juvenile delinquents, set to forgettable Eighties synth-pop.

"Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)" – Gaga does her best Springsteen. Or is it Meatloaf? "Get your hot rods ready to rumble/‘Cause we're gonna fall in love tonight/Get your hot rods ready to rumble/'Cause we're gonna drink until we die." Sublime schlock, with the biggest, thuddingest drum sound you've heard this century.

"Heavy Metal Lover" – More smutty talk, set against a wall of fuzzy synthesizer sound. "I want your whiskey mouth/All over my blond south," Gaga commands.

"Electric Chapel" – It earns its title with some heavy guitar riffing and a squealing metal solo towards the end. The lyric holds out hope for monogamous romance: "Together we'll find a way/To make pure love work in a dirty way."

"You and I" – Gaga's signature power ballad – a fan favorite since she first played it live in 2009 – gets the treatment it merits. Produced by "Mutt" Lange, guitar solo by Queen's Brian May, with a torrid, sturm und drang vocal turn by Gaga. It's a confession. (Gaga watchers speculate it's about her on-again off-again boyfriend Luc Carl.) It's also the greatest Def Leppard song Lady Gaga has ever written.

"The Edge of Glory" – Those hooks! That chorus! That Clarence Clemons sax solo! Born This Way goes out in a blaze of shlock-pop glory. (Listen below.)

Pretty good album!

"Scheiße" is my favourite song I think... even though her German is shockingly bad.

Overall it's good, but not groundbreaking - it's very Madonna

Born This Way is much, much better than The Fame. But whether its better than Monster is yet to be decided. I'll have to comment way further down the line to make that decision.

The Amazing's
Marry The Night
Judas
Americano
Schieße
Heavy Metal Lover

The Good's
Government Hooker
Bad Kids
Highway Unicorn
Electric Chapel
Edge of Glory
Hair
Born This Way

The not so great's
Bloody Mary
You & I

In saying that though, a lot of Gaga's 'good' songs take a while to grow on me. I'm guessing most of the songs will be pushed up a class or two lol. It took me a good 2 weeks to start listening to other tracks on The Fame other than Beautiful, Dirty, Rich :rolling:

I cannot believe you ranked You & I down there! :noway:

I was gonna say that I have a feeling You & I will become this albums Speechless for me. An absolute classic. But, its to grow on me. If you look at the 2 bottom they're very mid-tempo! Think of the mid-tempos as a pub and the rest a club. I'm in the mood for a club now.

With the exception of Scheiße and possibly Heavy Metal Lover, the standard of this album doesn't even come close to Bad Romance, Telephone, Monster or So Happy I Could Die. I listened to them last night and I could put this album into some sort of perspective.

^ So, overall not as good as the Fame Monster?

I personally would say that its better than the Fame, but not as good as the Fame Monster [yet]. But that's got nothing to do with the album being bad, just that the Fame Monster is of such a high quality!

Jason
05-23-2011, 10:57 AM
No, I think it's safe to say that Born This Way wont reach the heights of Monster for me. But I agree with you, that's not saying Born This Way is a bad album, very far from it.

Born This Way vs I Drove All Night vs I Wanna Love You

Gaga vs Celine vs Akon

Interesting mash up, but OHMYGOD, Born This Way could sooooo go with the melody of I Wanna Love You if the vocal arrangement was altered a little! I quite like it

Her Paul O Grady performance of Hair was outstanding. And her Edge of Glory performance - even if it is pound for pound the same as the video lol - is also brilliant. She's so good in interviews!
