Justin Bieber holds a boombox high above his head as he covers the latest issue of Billboard magazine.
The 16-year-old signer opened up about not wanting to be the next Hannah Montana, playing MSG and the comments he hears about himself from peers. Check it:
On the things he hears about being just a teen pop fad: “There’s more people that like me than there are who hate me, so I kind of brush it off,” he says. “People say, ‘Oh, people just like him because he’s pretty.’ Or the funniest one: ‘When he goes through puberty, he’s not going to be a good singer anymore. How does that make sense when we’ve seen people like Michael Jackson and Usher and Justin Timberlake and all these famous singers do it?”
On not wanting to try acting: “I don’t want to do the Hannah Montana thing.”
On playing Madison Square Garden: “I just think that I have enough fans, so I could pull in the people. I don’t really get nervous anymore. I’ve already performed at Madison Square Garden, and I’ve performed for an hour before. What’s the difference?”

MTV will be presenting a new special program on the 16-year-old musician this Sunday called “The Diary of Justin Bieber.”
In the sneak peek, Justin admits to a reporter in Paris about where he finds the inspiration for his love songs. He shared, “It’s weird when people say, ‘You’re only 15,’ because I know I am only 15, but at the same time I think at any age you can experience love. Whether you’re 80 or 5, you’re always gonna … I don’t know. There’s a difference between love and being in love because you can love someone but not necessarily be in love. So I think I’ve loved girls, but I don’t know — I haven’t been in love before.”
“The Diary of Justin Bieber” premieres on Sunday, March 27th @ 7:30PM on MTV. Check out the sneak peak video above.

Oh this guy just OOOOOZES charisma. Just watched an interview with him on a UK programme called T4, where they were ranking down the top moments of 2010 (he was #6!). He's funny, confident and cute!

Quite a contrast to what you thought of him before eh? Funny how our feelings towards someone can change like that. I remember hating him for what he said about Mariah, but when I realized it was just a silly rumor I started listening to his music again.
I'm by no means a super fan - I rarely watch his interviews/performances and only occasionally read news updates (though I do check his album sales every week) - but I do like his music, as my last.fm will tell you.
As far as his looks, they're definitely overrated. For the attention they get, you'd think he came down from the heavens. There is something about his style that grabs you though, and in some pictures he looks really cute (yet in others he looks average).

What surprises me the most is not the attention that he gets, but how confident he is - this is a man who has more confidence on stage, at the age of 16, 17 or 18 (I can't remember which!) than his peers, his contemporaries and his most other artists. I mean take this interview that I just watched on T4 - he said "hit my music", and got up and started dancing and doing these funky moves. And it worked; it didn't look cliche, or typical - it looked brilliant! He's proven that he's more than a fad, lets hope with his next release he proves that he's here to stay - a billion internet video views can't be wrong, surely.

I just love him so much. Musically, too :P !
But seriously, my favourite male artist!

Wow Wayne, I've never seen someone who didn't know/remember his age say he could be up to 18 years old. He gets SO much crap for looking and sounding like a little boy whose balls haven't yet dropped xD

What about him do you like? Surely he can't be as good as artists who are twice his age with twice the experience? ;)

His age definately has something to do with his appeal - and I mean in that in a very honest and innocent way. For someone his age he is just SOOO gifted, and not just vocally. His instrument playing is fantastic and his performance + dance skills are just great too for someone of his age. So yeah, for someone of his age to do all the things he does is incredible to me. He gets so much stick from people, but when you really observe him, he is just so talented - and could easily grown up to be as good as other "boy stars" like Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson and Usher.
His music is also really appealing too. It's just contemporary R&B that's light and easy on the ears, and not too old nor too juvenile for him either. I think people categorise him by the screaming girls, his age and his songs like "Baby" - but if you listen to his album "My World 2.0", there are some seriously good R&B ballads with beautiful vocals - most notably "Runaway Love" which could've been sung by a R&B vocalist in the 90s. It's probably my favourite from him (along with "Somebody To Love") and if sung by any other artist, it would've been a huge hit on the R&B charts for sure.

Well said Simon! He's not just bubblegum pop - Where Are You Now? and Down To Earth are beautiful, heartfelt ballads

It's called exploitation, Deegz ;) His label must be raking in the cash cos pics like these go out and draw in even more drooling fans. Before you know it he'll be modelling CK underwear! (unless he's already doing that???)
