She has confirmed that a new album is in the works, but it hasn't been confirmed when it will be released! She is notorious for taking bloody ages! :P

Nick S, a reliable source because he works for Sony BMG I think, posted this on the ChristinaMultiMedia forum:

I have been debating about whether to post this or not for ages as I know people will say I have made it up but this is simply an attempt to stop everyone getting too excited re the album.
The album is currently still down for a Nov release but as there has been no news of it, it is most likely to be released early 2010. I am sorry but I just dont want everyone to be disappointed. You dont have to believe me but I have nothing to gain by telling you this.

I really really really hope we get an album this year.

I adore Christina, but I just want more material!

I can't wait to see what direction this album will take... similar to the new tracks on Decade of Hits?

Keeps Getting Better (single) had such an edge to it. Was a purely brilliant track, and I'd love to see some of those influences on the album. I'm not a fan of Goldfrapp to be honest, but if that's what they bring to the table, then wooo!

Considering KGB was a blatant Goldfrapp rip off of course thats what the album will sound like! lol Its gunna be electronic pop music with a futuristic theme, I just hope for her sake that the image is nothing like Gaga's!

Christina album has Ladytron feel

Ladytron's Reuben Wu has claimed the band have put their own stamp on Christina Aguilera's new album.

The electro pop group worked with the Dirrty singer on her record Light And Darkness, which is due out in November, and Reuben revealed she was impressed with what they had to offer.

"She is still Christina and it's still her voice but the album is very much Ladytron," said Reuben at the Standon Calling festival.

He continued: "Normally we work together as a band so we were pleased when she liked loads of the stuff we'd written for her.

"Christina sees her new album as an evolution in her music as she wants to develop her music personality and expand this taste in really cool music."

Reuben also revealed Christina was keen to spend time with her baby Max during the recording sessions.

"Her studio is in Ozzy Osborne's old house and is out in her back yard. When we were finished working her husband Jordan would come over with their baby Max.

"She's now a mother and a wife so that's why she made the decision to make the change."

Reuben was speaking at the Standon Calling festival in Herefordshire, where the band's hard-hitting vocals for classic hits Seventeen and Destroy Everything You Touch captured the dancing crowds.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA ENLISTS M.I.A. AND SANTIGOLD FOR NEW ALBUM

http://www.pedestrian.tv/uploads/images/blogs/4a8b79df6f0e9/090817-mia-santigold-x-tina.jpg

CUSTOMER: Hey dude is this a female only DFA mix?
RECORD STORE GUY: Um no. It's the new Christina Aguilera album.
CUSTOMER: Hahahaha
RECORD STORE GUY: No dude, seriously...
CUSTOMER: Haha (laugh slowly wanes, looks again in disbelief)
RECORD STORE GUY: I know right?
CUSTOMER: But....I'm...Sia..really?
RECORD STORE GUY: Uhuh. Trust me I'm as confused as you are.
CUSTOMER: (Discreetly slips a twenty on the counter) Can you bag this?
RECORD STORE GUY: No judgment man I bought a copy home with me yesterday.
CUSTOMER: OK cool. I can always say I bought it ironically anyway. Or...can...I?
RECORD STORE GUY: I just don't know anymore man, I just don't know.

END SCENE.

When did this happen? We ignore Christina Aguilera for a couple of years beyond ridiculing her ill-advised Dirrty phase and assuming that Britney won when BAM! Like a genie in a bottle Xtina slowly pieces together the most anticipated album of all-time (no exaggeration). Seriously, it's gonna be killer. Hell we might even buy it just to see if it's real.

Why is that you ask? Well it's all about the feat. with Ms. Aguilera skillfully wrangling a cavalcade of dance music's brightest stars. Her latest recruits to the already stellar contributor list are dancefloor divas M.I.A. and Santigold bringing the -hot collaborator total to six with Le Tigre, Sia, Goldfrapp, Ladytron, M.I.A. and Santigold all reportedly lending their talent to the project.

Concrete details are scarce but Aguilera has stated: “I know I can’t let too much out the bag too soon. I think I’m most proud of this work than I’ve ever been, just because I worked with so many amazing and incredibly talented people.” See kids? If you can't earn credibility then just buy it.[/quote]

Christina Aguilera to Dupe Hipsters with Santigold, M.I.A. Collaborations

http://www.blackbookmag.com/ee/images/uploads2/xtina.jpg

Previously: Le Tigre! Sia! Goldfrapp! Ladytron! And now Christina Aguilera, like a ventriloquist, has managed to stay tight-lipped while intimating how she's also collaborated with Santigold and M.I.A.. But specific details about the Best Album Ever otherwise remain cloudy. We don't even have a release date, although a viral should be forthcoming -- it usually is.
Adds Aguilera, “I know I can’t let too much out the bag too soon. I think I’m most proud of this work than I’ve ever been, just because I worked with so many amazing and incredibly talented people.” Despite being spoiled for collaborators, Aguilera singles out Sia, saying, “I think we really created some super crazy magic together.”
But while Aguilera rides the coat-tails of such talent to the highest tier of indie street cred, perhaps a sizable number of us will continue to ape for the good old days. And the rest of us will wait patiently to see how badly Aguilera manages to dupe the Pitchfork set into thinking that there might be any palpable difference between this new album and this Goldfrappish gem featured on her greatest hits collection.

She’s no stranger to a travel-intensive lifestyle and last night (August 24) Christina Aguilera was spotted catching a flight at LAX International Airport.

Joined by her husband Jordan Bratman, the “Genie in a Bottle” songstress looked to have left her baby son Max Liron home with a babysitter.

New interview from InStyle magazine.

"The singer is recording a futuristic new album, set for release early next year. "I'm more excited about this record than anything I've released," she says. "It showcases textures and parts of my voice that I haven't shown before." Meanwhile, she'll start shooting her cinematic debut in Burlesque, a musical co-starring Cher. Which means a little brother or sister for Max will have to wait. "I want more children, but not in the near future," she says."

SIA TALKS ALBUM & POTENTIAL SINGLE!
So the material that you wrote for her, is it happy or depressing?

It's a bit of both. It's kind of more ballad-y. There's one really beautiful kind of mid-tempo; I guess that's the one they're thinking might be a single. I have a couple of favorites, but my favorite is kind of like a lullaby. We wrote it for her son, and it's really beautiful. It's like classical music beautiful. And another one that's called "You Lost Me," which is very sad and awesome. It's my favorite thing to hear her sing since "Beautiful," just the way her voice is. It suits her voice so beautifully, and it's very simple in a way.

‘‘We've written some really wonderful songs. I would put any of the songs we've written on one of my albums. And it's a total collaboration. The collaboration has already yielded four tracks, with Aguilera wanting to write more.

LADYTRON SPEAK ABOUT COLLABO!
"It’s pretty much the pinnacle of what we’ve done so far [working with Christina]. We’ve just been hard at work writing songs with her and producing the music. It sounds like Ladytron with Christina Aguilera on vocals. I think it’ll be a really cool record.” http://honoluluweekly.com/entertainment/2009/05/a-new-classic-britsh-style-reuben/

LE TIGRE TALK ABOUT ALBUM!
She [Christina] picked a lot of really awesome people to work on her record and she is an awesome person and a really hard worker and I really respect her music a lot. We’ve been working with her a little bit and it’s been really awesome. She’s really a talented artist and we think it makes sense for her to work with other women making interesting music and art. I think they’re really good decisions that she’s made with who to collaborate with on that record.

Christina Aguilera Wraps New Album, Collaborates with Flo Rida

http://www.rap-up.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/christina-flo-rida.jpg

Tricky Stewart has not only been busy working on new projects for Ciara, Rihanna, Diddy, and The-Dream, but also Christina Aguilera’s long-awaited fourth studio album. The producer with the Midas touch let Rap-Up.com in on a few secrets from his recording sessions with the pop princess.

“I’m working on Christina Aguilera’s album for next year,” Tricky told Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview.

The follow-up to 2006’s Back to Basics has been described as a departure from her past efforts. “It’s just great. I wouldn’t say that it’s alternative, I wouldn’t say that it’s different,” he shared. “Christina’s always been an artist that moves the bar and that’s what the great ones do. They don’t stay in the same place for too long and this album is just another move for her.”

The hitmaking machine behind Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” believes this album will take its place among Aguilera’s best work. “I really feel it’s one of her best bodies of work that I’ve heard since Stripped. I think it’s really, really amazing and I think it’s well put together.”

The record has something for everyone. “She’s mixing it up again. She’s singing R&B again, she’s doing pop. She’s doing it all, but she’s found a way to make it all meet in the middle because she’s so many different things. She’s a real serious musician, she’s a real serious pop artist, and she’s a real serious singer. She’s making all her audiences happy at the same time.”

The mother of one had previously revealed a collaboration with M.I.A. “I know that she did it,” confirmed Tricky, “and I know that there’s a lot of other cool features, like I know that she has Santigold and Flo Rida on there.”

Tricky enlisted the “Right Round” rapper for one of the cuts. “I put Flo Rida on my record because I love what he does. I think sometimes he doesn’t get credit for being as dope as he is, but he’s really dope.”

Fans will have to wait until next year for the album while the pop star focuses on Burlesque, her musical co-starring Cher. “She’s gonna do the film first. She didn’t want to not be able to promote this record because it’s gonna be a big record for her,” explained Tricky.

But rest assured that the futuristic-sounding project is on its way. “The album is finished. She’s mixing. She hasn’t made a final decision about what the first single is, but I know everyone feels good about their options.”

Who is this Alix?

ALIX MALKA Is one of the new talents in fashion photography, born in Paris, Alix Malka is today one of the most asked for photographers by the international magazines. His inspiration comes from the likes of Pedro Almodovar and John Waters, as well as designers like John Galliano and Alexander McQueen. Obsessed by color, Malka’s images are suggestive of taste for rich, exuberant and sophisticated stylism. His first incursion to the world of the fashion was in 1985 when he began work with director Tierry Mugler. Certain image will probably speak to you. One of my preferred photographers in the hyperglamourous world of fashion…

Here's a nice recap of some comments about the work with Christina and the album from http://christinas-blogspot.blogspot.com/:

Rob Lewis:

I can tell you that what you will see and hear from Christina will be different, original, and probably against the grain: the true form for Christina ... always re-creating herself."

Tricky Stewart:

"It's just great. I wouldn't say that it's alternative, I wouldn't say that it's different; Christina's always been an artist that moves the bar and that's what the great ones do. They don't stay in the same place for too long, and this album is just another move for her. I really feel it's one of her best bodies of work that I've heard since Stripped. I think it's really, really amazing and I think it's well put together. "She's mixing it up again. She's singing R&B again, she's doing pop. She's doing it all, but she's found a way to make it all meet in the middle because she's so many different things."

Sia Furler:

One of the songs is "the best singing she does since Beautiful" and another one is an "awesome, catchy, Christina-song". Another one is a song in honour for her son Max Liron Bratman. "It´s almost like a lullaby".

Ladytron:

We were impressed because she had a real deep knowledge of our music - album tracks, not just the singles!". "We went in with no expectations; the whole thing was a massive surprise. But it was incredible. She was so musically talented, a vocalist who really knows her voice. The first takes sounded really amazing, and while we'd made demos, it was only when her voice was on them that it all came to life. It's nice to talk about them, we've been sitting on this for a while.

Christina Aguilera:

I think I'm most proud of this work than I have ever been, just because I have worked with so many amazing and incredible talented people, a lot of different collaborations, working with a lot of artists that I really love and listen to, respect and admire. Sia, the singer, songwriter has done some work with "Breathe Me," one of her main, amazing beautiful songs, we did a lot of work on this record together and she's just a complete gem, she's truly just a talented force to be reckoned with and I so enjoyed her company. I think we really created some super crazy magic together. I got the chance to sort of write with Santogold, M.I.A., Ladytron, artists that I really love. The overall versatility of this record is truly something special for me, I actually experimented with so many types of textures and sounds of my voice that I've never showcased and I've never even really knew that I could do. Working with so many different people, I really kind of wanted to step into their worlds, them into my world, and just get the best of both worlds and see what happened, and really experiment which is honestly what I try to do with every record so that I'm not making the same song over and over, and over again. I really like to step outside of my own box and really check out artists and this was the first time that I really collaborated with so many at once and it was just so exciting for me and the result was just magic and I just can't wait to share it all with you guys. I'm dying to share some of my titles of the record, some of the songs off the album because they're really special and just interesting to hear within itself, but soon enough guys, soon enough, I promise that it will be well worth the wait. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy on the record and as I said it's versatility is really special and it's something that I've never actually done before and being so versatile both vocally and musically, a lot of good stuff in store.

Christina Aguilera’s upcoming fourth studio album, “Bionic”, has been pushed back. The album is now set for an April 2010 release.

In a statement, RCA Records announced that the album was delayed before it was scheduled to hit stores around the world in March. The record company did not mention the exact date of the album’s release, but said that her first single would be “Glam” and would be released next month.

With March almost 1/2 way through, it makes you wonder what is going on with Christina Aguilera new album Bionic and where is her new single at. Was it supposed to be released this month? Yes, it was and her album next month. But guess what Rolling Stones magazine have confirmed Christina Aguilera album Bionic is set to be released in July or beyond. It might not happen at all because Christina Aguilera is busy with her film "Burlesque". It won't surprise me at all if her album gets pushed back again or till next year cause she's busy focusing on her movie and personal life right now to make a comeback in the music world. But oh well, let's see what happens with her music career. Hopefully it will be released soon cause I can't wait to hear new music froom her

FIVE TIME GRAMMY AWARD WINNING RECORDING ARTIST CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM "BIONIC" SUMMER 2010 FIRST SINGLE "NOT MYSELF TONIGHT" WILL PREMIERE ON CHRISTINAAGUILERA.COM AT 6PM EDT ON 3/30, IMPACTS RADIO ON 4/5 AND WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON iTUNES ON 4/13

(New York - NY- March 25th, 2010) - With 30 million albums sold worldwide and the prestigious honor of being the only artist under the age of 30 included in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 100 greatest singers of all time, 5 time Grammy Award winner Christina Aguilera has already achieved an unprecedented level of success. Aguilera's been hard at work in the studio for the past year and is pleased to announce the release of her highly anticipated 4th studio album Bionic (RCA Records) this summer. The first single from "Bionic" is the fiercely energetic anthem "Not Myself Tonight", produced by Polow Da Don. The song will premiere on ChristinaAguilera.com at 6pm EDT on 3/30, impacts radio on 4/5 and will be available on iTunes on 4/13.

Bionic features songs co-written by Aguilera along with her much buzzed about collaborations including Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron among others. Aguilera notes, "Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic." The album also features a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled "Lift Me Up". The title Bionic reflects Aguilera's ability to take her range to new levels and use her voice in various ways never heard before.

Aguilera describes the album as a unique mix of many genres and styles of music, "I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don't think anyone will expect." In addition to completing the album which was all recorded from her home studio after the birth of her first son, Christina also completed production on her first film, "Burlesque." The film, which co-stars Cher, Stanley Tucci, and Kristen Bell will be released by ScreenGems this fall.

Tune in tomorrow for a sneak peak exclusive of the song via Christina Aguilera official website.

With her new album Bionic coming out soon, Christina Aguilera wrote a special message to her fans on her website.

She writes:

Dear Fans,

I have been hard at work over the last year or so preparing for this moment. As you know, I have just wrapped production on my first feature film, Burlesque, which will be in theaters this Thanksgiving. And I will finally be releasing my fourth studio album, Bionic, this summer on June 8th. I couldn’t be more excited to finally share this material with you all and I wanted to reach out and let you know what this project is all about for me. Each album I release is a representation of my personal life experiences and how they have shaped me. I strongly believe that life is all about growth, self-discovery and self-expression. Making music allows me to define my experiences and share them with others who might hopefully relate. Over the past four years I have learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of. What all women are capable of. Since the release of my last studio album, Back to Basics, I have become a mother, a wife, and most recently an actress. All of these new experiences have allowed me to face new challenges and explore different sides of myself I did not even know existed. I am a woman who wears many hats and carries many responsibilities. There are so many characteristics that define me, and this album was put together to represent all of those different parts of myself.

The sound is not necessarily easy to define because I am not easy to define. I can be serious. I can be playful. Sexual. Loving. Tough. Hardworking. Honest. To capture all of these characteristics I chose to collaborate with a variety of artists and producers across different musical genres. I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matters ranging from playful to introspective. This allowed me to challenge myself by using my voice in ways I never had before. It also allowed me to push personal boundaries and explore what is possible for my future and me as an artist. You will find on this album songs that represent the many sides of me. I have learned that like all women I am sometimes capable of being superhuman. Like all women I am BIONIC… I look forward to seeing all of you on the road very soon. In the meantime, keep checking here as I am preparing to launch my new and improved website in the near future. It will be a place for you all to connect with each other, with me, and to insure that you are updated with all official information. There are a lot of fun surprises in store for this year!
Get ready, and I’ll see you all soon…

With love,
C/X

Album review by Slant Magazine (3/5 Stars)

After spending more than a decade being only passingly entertained by either, it's not like I really want to keep defining Christina Aguilera by comparing her minxy Betty to Britney Spears's voracious Veronica. But Christina makes it so easy when she snaps up the beat from Britney Bitch's "Gimme More" for the leadoff single of Bionic, her long-awaited follow-up to 2006's Back to Basics. She makes it easy when, in said leadoff, "Not Myself Tonight," she dares to utter the word Britney only spelled out in the still puzzling single-entendre of "If U Seek Amy." She really makes it easy when she tries to one-up the Playskool procreation balladry of Britney's "My Baby" by actually prefacing her own musical version of mom jeans, "All I Need," with a few vocalizations from her toddler son Max.

Unfortunately, it's her similarities with Brit that give Tina her humanity. Because the differences—her vocal showboating, her too-careful balancing act between club bangers and power ballads, her conceptual rebound from Back to Basics's retro into Bionic's futurism—all confirm her as a living, humping, belting calculation. (She doesn't help matters when she agrees to slap cover art on the new album depicting her as a jigsaw Robotron with more mechanized cogs spinning behind those pouty lips than Androids have apps.)

On the surface, Bionic is as efficient a pop entertainment as was Circus. For two-thirds of its running time, it pounds four on the floor, and then spends the remaining third ponying up to the bar while the string of slow jams bores almost everyone silly (except for all those winsome little waif boys in the corner whose lives were saved many times over by "Beautiful"). Aguilera's handpicked cadre of writers and producers—M.I.A., Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Le Tigre, Peaches, Sia, Polow da Don, the son of Chic's Bernard Edwards, and, on the deluxe edition, Santigold and Ladytron—are eclectic and intelligently applied, if not necessarily the first group of names you'd select for a project intended to predict the future, like an album-length reincarnation of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love."

But it's all in service of routine pop sex, the sort of standard-issue sleaze that Christina's "Dirrty," a monument in maladaptive eroticism, stood in stark contrast against. With Bionic, she takes the cash, she cashes the checks, she shows them the diva snatch they want to see. She, having digested Gaga's muffin, builds up an appetite for infantile genital tagging by extolling the savory qualities of her "Woohoo," in which she chants, "All the boys think it's cake when they taste my woohoo/You don't even need a plate, just your face/Licky, licky, yum-yum." Icky, icky, ho-hum. (Throughout the song's husky double-time sex hustle, Christina's mantra "woohoo" is repeated ad nauseam, filtered so as to register as a cowbell.)
Elsewhere, in "Elastic Love," she flatly points out that her use of the lyric "rubber band" is a metaphor, an observation rendered totally redundant by M.I.A. and company's sonic Kegel exercises. If analogies fail, boy does she make her bid to grab the gays back from the clutches of Gaga explicit. Considering "I Hate Boys" (except the ones who kiss boys) is closer than I ever thought Christina would ever come to recording a Daphne Aguilera track, it's ironically also one of many tracks on Bionic that sound tailor-made to accompany the opening credits of Johnny Weir's forthcoming reality show. None more so, though, than the masquerade ball that is "Glam," a top-heavy cocktail that mixes one part "Vogue" with two parts "Technologic" and serves with a snap.
Sure, her voice remains full, brash, and loud. Whatever it is she's trying to say, she puts it out there with the conviction of a tornado siren with a 10-inch dong lodged in its throat. But ultimately, so much of what passes for hedonism on Bionic feels synthetic and compulsory. "Sex for Breakfast," shallow orgasms for lunch. The lube-slick but water-soluble Bionic is a party album without a guest list, a sex toy used without self-awareness.

The week’s other big debut is RCA/RMG diva Christina Aguilera’s techno-heavy Bionic, just her fourth studio album since her self-titled 1999 bow, and expected to do between 120-125k. Her previous studio album, Back to Basics, came out in August 2006, selling 350k in its first week. A greatest hits album was released in Nov. 2008, debuting with 73k in sales.

This would put her at #3 behind Glee and Twilight! This is quite bad, considering it's only her fourth and she's had 4 years to build anticipation. I know I know, NMT flopped, but it's still a disappointment.

Since I expect nothing off this album to hit the top 10 of the Hot 100, her album total will almost certainly not exceed 1 million, even if she ships that much.

She's pulling a Memoirs But what's sad is that she's only on #4 and not yet 30.

Some great peaks! However, sales wise its not so good; HDD (USA) have revised their estimate to 100-110k. And in the UK, she registered the lowest first week sales for an album...ever with 24,300 copies sold or thereabouts. Terrible!

*the second lowest! :P

However, lowest total this year, even lower than Gaga, who by the time she registered her 25k a month or so back, had topped the charts on 42 occasions already! Here's my thoughts on the 4 best tracks:

Not Myself Tonight
- Perfect lead single! I don’t share the same views as those who claim that this is too Gaga-ish. I think it sounds fresh, vibrant and whilst it is nothing revolutionary, this was a perfect lead single. I can’t explain its relative failure on the charts – maybe she’ll experience the same renaissance that Rihanna did with Wait Your Turn / Rude Boy, after her stunning piece of balladry Russian Roulette flopped. Anyway, this gets people moving on the dancefloor, and ultimately, I think that’s what its for. Nowadays, a dance/euro-pop influenced track doesn’t seem to do any good without the approval (production) of Guetta or another premier DJ.
Woohoo

Lift Me Up
- Originally this was the major disappointment for me on the album – the let down. Following her live performance of it, I was expecting something more gripping, and acapella-ish. However, I’ve come to realise that this sounds much more atmospheric and meaningful on the album, and with the background instruments only adding to the song, this is going to go down a highlight of her career. By no means your traditional ballad, this is nonetheless an outstanding piece of balladry. Her vocals soar and soar and she shows just why she’s one of the greatest young singers in the world. My favourite on the album

You Lost Me
- I’ve seen reviews around the world describing this as Bionic’s Hurt. Melodically and in terms of the arrangement, they may share similarities. However, I personally feel that this is Beautiful : Part II. Delivering a strong message of loss, and retribution, this could even be Fighter :Part II. And why not, lets throw in a piece of The Voice Within. The aforementioned three are probably three of her most important ballads, and You Lost Me incorporates themes from each, to create what is in my opinion a masterpiece.

I Am
- “...timid and oversensitive.” I love the start of this song! The song itself delivers such a strong sense of empowerment, like the previous two songs do, but in a different way. You Lost Me shows her facing up to her problems, I Am shows her fighting back by singing “love me or leave me, just take it or leave it”. Coupled with the vocal restraint, and the soft arrangement, this is very nice

Btw, this drops from 126-163 on the Billboard 200 in its 12th week! It should sell about 300K by the end of the year in the US, which won't even match the first-week sales of Back to Basics.

Wayne
09-02-2010, 04:54 PM

I think Miley's album is somewhat comparable - same peak, similar first-week sales, and both doing much less than their predecessors. Although at least Miley had a top 10 single and a top 3 single just at the end of last year. Also, both artists took forever to announce the 2nd single.

So that's at least 3 big females that have under-performed in the past year. Only one female solo artist (Lady Gaga) is in the top 5 album sellers so far this year in the US. That damn Eminem and his 1.3m copies already! I never would have seen that happening just a year after the disappointing Relapse era.

Christina Aguilera: 'Bionic is over'
Thursday, September 9 2010, 11:17 BST
By Robert Copsey, Music Reporter

Christina Aguilera has revealed that she has moved on from her latest album Bionic.

The LP - Aguilera's first in four years - peaked at number one in the UK with the lowest opening-week sales for an album ever. It dropped to number 29 the following week.

Speaking at a press conference for her new movie Burlesque, she said: "The creative process that involved Bionic is over, I did what I wanted to do and I'm satisfied with it.

"If the album sells or if the songs are a hit, I don't care and I don't need to know it, I did my part and I gave 100% while I was doing it, and I'm proud of this work."

Discussing the film, she added: "Burlesque was a different process, I'll support this project util the end, but not to find out if it was a box office hit or not - that is not what motivates me.

"The creative process is my thing, I'm an artist and once something is over, I look forward for what is next, and I don't look back."

Aguilera's new single 'You Lost Me' is out September 20.

Producer Tricky Stewart has insisted that Christina Aguilera's latest album Bionic was badly marketed.

The hitmaker, who worked on several tracks for the LP including the songs 'Glam', 'Prima Donna' and 'Desnudate', said that the whole campaign was "out of sync", and her new movie Burlesque will mark her return to the top.

"It just seemed like the timing was a little bit off and things got a little bit out of sync for her on that project," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"This film is going to bring her right back where she needs to be. When she starts to focus on a new project, I think it’s going to be amazing.

"It’s a matter of if it can be marketed properly. When I listen to [Bionic], I definitely am a fan. More than anything, it was promoted poorly."

It was recently reported that Aguilera had begun working on her fifth studio album (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a286178/aguilera-begins-working-on-new-album.html), which she described as "introspective".

Was poor promotion the reason? I think it was to a degree, but thats Aggie's own fault lol

She did more than enough promo...

Bad album has bad sales. Not rocket science :p
It's a shame radio never caught onto NMT, I still love that song. But apart from Woohoo there isn't anything else I can really listen to on this album.

the album is not bad, but I can´t get ove really primitive lyrics in some songs
Vanity for example - I love the sound, but hate the lyrics
