Ne-Yo has offered his backing to JLS after hearing that the X Factor boyband are hoping to break the US, a report claims.

According to the Daily Star, the American R&B singer met the group while out clubbing in London and promised to give them "a helping hand" over the coming months.

JLS signed a recording contract with Epic in January after finishing in second place on the ITV1 reality series.

The band recently completed work on the X Factor live tour and are now supporting Lemar at his UK gigs.

Show winner Alexandra Burke travelled to the US to start recording her debut album last week.

They also performed a new track on the Lemar tour called "Lady" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNxXqMSH_38&feature=player_embedded)
