I ranked her as one of my top 20 favourite female acts in the site's countdown, and I'm currently in an Eva mood! She makes me both happy & sad, and so listening to her is both a pleasurable & bitter experience. She undoubtedly has one of the most distinctive and soulful voices in music history. Its very understated with a beautiful tone, and its clarity is pure perfection.
Anybody else a fan?

 At no one else replying, well most of the peeps on here are obssessive pop fans so Eva probably isn't everyones thing  , but for me personally she is brilliant. I love her voice, it is BEAUTiful & I'm really into her 'Somewhere' album at the mo and I love her version of 'Somewhere over The Rainbow', different from Judy's version but just as special. :D

Yes, completely agree about the last part. I actually think only Eva's version matches Judy's original in terms of brilliance. Eva has not done (from what I have listened to so far) a bad song. The only song I've not liked (but still wouldn't call bad) is her interpretation of Fever.
Her Songbird album was recently certified 6x Platinum in Britain by the BPI = 1,800,000 copies shipped, making it one of the top 80 best-selling albums ever in the country! She so deserves it!

 at the last part! Shame no one on here has enough taste to listen to her, if you're not Mariah Carey or Beyonce shaking you arse around everywhere you haven't got a hope in hell , what's the world come too!!!!!!!!? :crazyman:
I like her version of 'Chain of Fools' which is surprising because that type of song isn't usually my thing! 'Ain't Doin' Too Bad' is really good too! And I like quite a few songs on 'Songbird' it's so sad she died :(

I bloody can, and I will because it's true! :teehee:
The Revolution glad you like her! :biggrinlove:
I have a couple of her albums.I'm not mad about all of her song choices, but her voice is gorgeous - even on the tracks that I don't like (Imagine & Danny Boy for example).
My favourites would be : Fields Of Gold (I never liked the Sting song, but Eva totally won me over with her version),Over The Rainbow, and It Doesn't Matter Anymore.

Actually adore her :) she had the best voice of any white woman American in terms of vocal power in her time. The tribute to her life was fantastic - such a tragic life story :(
