SONGSTRESS Mariah Carey is famous as a woman who knows what she wants – and usually gets it.
So when she made Liverpool DJ Anton Powers an offer, there was really no way he could refuse.

The Juice FM and club favourite is one of the hottest properties in the country for remixes, in demand by huge names including The Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Alesha Dixon and The Saturdays.
But, he tells Insider, he wasn’t taking on any new Cahill remixes so he could concentrate on his own tracks.

“Then I got a call from our manager, Jon Barlow, late on a Saturday night saying Mariah Carey’s label had called asking for us to remix her new single,” explains Anton.

“Obviously I couldn’t say no to her, the only issue was that if she didn’t like the mix, it wouldn’t get used and we wouldn’t get paid!

“So we did the mix, sent it back to them, thankfully she liked it but said she wanted to redo the vocals to fit our mix. She went back in the studio (unfortunately in the USA and not with us) and re-did the vocals so it fits better on our mix, then she gave it the green light.”

The result, Obsessed, is due out next month but ECHO DJ of the Year Anton’s already been told that it’s the label’s favourite remix of the year.

A diva? Insider thinks not.

This is definately one of my favourite singles of 2009 so far.

I initially thought I would tire of this so quickly, but it's definately not got boring for me yet!

Altho It's like that reached only 16,it was a very decent hit.IT had a catchy new sound...

I really honestly do not believe that obsessed will do what It's like that did for TEOM(402k sold first week.)

We Belong Together was released before TEOM came out. Atleat her sales are staying consistent on iTunes, unlike TMB & BB. She's performing on America's Got Talent on Wednesday, maybe her sales will increase then.

I think H.A.T.E U should get released in late August/early September.

With the whole Eminem feud, this song should be around for a while. I don't think they intended it to be a smash hit anyway, I think they're really gonna push the second single down our throats to try to duplicate We Belong Together's success. And I hope it works!!

In an unbelievable turn of fate, Mariah Carey's 'Obsessed' is climbing its way back up the charts. If it makes number one, it would be a historic day for all people of colour. The artist with more US number ones in the history would be a black female. Mariah Carey has certainly never admitted to being perfect but she is no villain. Often miscast as a diva in the media, those that meet her find her to be quite the opposite, with her charitable side often shielded from the spotlight. Recently, a backing singer revealed how Mariah had saved her life by secretly paying for her cancer treatment- treatment she desperately needed to live. This is the side few see of Mariah Carey, but a side that would make her more than deserving of success if her single reached number one.

Mimi sang her latest single Obsessed, but there was something off about it all.The performance was very reminiscent of Britney's VMA gig back in 2007: dull, disappointing and down-right awful.

Okay UK a little exclusive for ya, Mariah Carey returns with an absolute monster for today's
current electronic driven market place. Mariah joins forces with the man that can do little
wrong in the eyes of the urban world right now, his name The Dream, just in case u hadn't
guessed. Mariah is on fire vocally over the top of a haunting, droning keyboard, face slapping
snare and deep bass line. This mid-beat monster is gonna be all over radio like a rash in the

Called 'Obsessed' the song tells the story of woman that has a guy claiming he is with her and
having sex with her because none of his chat up lines and bull shit is working on her and he
can't handle her rejection. The track is a lethal concoction of fierce beats and powerful
vocals that will be a monster hit. I think this was probably meant to be a street single but I
don't think Def Jam can control how big this track going to be, a bit like Sony BMG couldn't
control Ushers 'Yeah' and we all know how big that record become.
