Alexandra Burke has revealed that she is extremely happy with the current state of her lifestyle and career.

The 'Start Without You' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesreviews/a261928/alexandra-burke-ft-laza-morgan-start-without-you.html) singer, who recently announced her intention to open a school (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a286876/burke-im-opening-a-school-in-haiti.html) in Haiti, explained that she had learnt to appreciate her success more since getting involved with charity work and meeting people less fortunate than herself.

" the happiest person on earth, ever," she told [I]The Mail On Sunday. "[A friend asked] 'Aren’t you bored of photoshoots?' Excuse me? Bored? Why would I be bored, wearing lots of gorgeous cool clothes and talking about my music?

"I don't take any of this for granted. I live every day as if it were my last, which sounds a bit dramatic, but having visited Haiti for Save the Children and raised money for breast cancer walking the Inca Trail (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a221499/van-outen-cotton-organise-charity-trek.html) in Peru, I've learnt not to sweat the small stuff."

However, Burke did identify one aspect of her life that she wouldn't mind changing.

"I haven’t got time for a boyfriend, but [a] love interest sounds exciting," she declared. "Someone who can make me smile and understand my schedule. And shop for food in Marks & Spencer with me and take me to see a movie."

Awww! :D

Alexandra Burke has dismissed Elton John's claims that she will be dropped from Simon Cowell's record label.

The singer, who performed her new single 'The Silence' on last night's X Factor results show, said John's comments were "weird" because she is a friend of the 'Rocket Man' artist.

Addressing claims that she will be "humped and dumped" by Cowell, she told Metro: "It's a bit weird because I've met Elton a few times and every time he's said he loves my music.

"I don't want to get into a row about those comments because I haven't seen them."

The 'Broken Heels' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesreviews/a192266/alexandra-burke-broken-heels.html) star also revealed that she is working on her sophomore LP, insisting that it will be "edgy" and take more risks.

"I'm gonna take more risks," she said. "It's going to be sexy and edgy".

Burke's deluxe edition of her latest record Overcome is out today.

What did Elton say?

Alex is the greatest thing to come from X factor. Deluxe edition has made me fall in love with her all over again. SO excited to see the tour January 28th YAY.
And her performance on X Factor. MMM PERFECTION??? Sorry but Rebecca could never pull that off. Everything was just incredible really. Don't understand why it's not SHOOTING up iTunes. Combined both versions are sort of like ~20. I know it's an old song though, and I do think it's a bit silly to re-release an album with this as the lead, but it's too good to go to waste. And I would have DIED (in a bad way) if she switched this around with Start Without You. Do not need to see that shit on my Sunday night X Factor thank you very much. Although I'm now indifferent to the song instead of flat out hating it.

Apparently, he was taking to a DJ on Absolute Radio, and mentioned that, amongst other things, Alexandra Burke was very talented but was being mis-managed.

I actually do agree - she is being mis managed. Overcome could've been so much more (in terms of success) - she should have the million selling album, not JLS.

Winner of The X Factor 2008 Alexandra Burke has left Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, her brother David Burke has apparently revealed. However do not fear fans of the perfect performer! Alexandra is still signed, and instead will now release music with RCA records.

Burke tweeted today: “I’d like to thank SyCo for the part they played until this point, but pastures new was required for potential progression going forward.

“Really happy Alexandra has officially moved RCA records for new album era. Fingers crossed for progression and improved efficiency”

Alex meanwhile is quoted as saying: “I can’t wait for the release of the next album. It’s exciting having new people join my amazing team.”

Alex, who has hit the number one spot FOUR times with her debut album, is due to release her follow up later this year – and we can’t bloody wait!
